The Many Bottlenecks Jews Have Faced: J2 Facts Come Out of It

Nadene Goldfoot
From having many men in the mix, so many were lost and those remaining were in the bottleneck.
A bottleneck is a genetic DNA term that explains what happens to a people when a horrific incident happens that wipes out most of their population.  I'll show how that has happened to us many times without an environmental event like a volcano erupting.

"Some bottlenecks are religiously induced – Amish, Mennonite and Jewish, for example.  These people marry only within their religion.  Today, that’s called endogamy – but it’s a form of a bottleneck event. " In our situation, most of the time the culture helped us to be in this situation by locking Jews up in ghettos such as in Italy, or in Syria keeping us in the Jewish quarter of Yehuda Street with pain of death if one left.  For 2,000 years, we've not only preferred to marry within our own people, but Gentiles have not wanted to mix with us, either.  It's been a mutual standoff, until recent days. Of course, there's always been rape, and sometimes but rarely, love between religions.

A wonderful example I have found is  this.  "There are 4 people, 2 couples.  Each person’s DNA is represented by a color.  The two males are blue and green and the 2 females are pink and yellow, like on the left side of the pedigree chart shown below.
perez autosomal
In the first generation, they pass their DNA to their children and the children are blue/yellow and green/pink.  In the second generation, the children intermarry with the other couple’s children – because there are no choices.  All of the grandchildren of the original couple have DNA that is blue, yellow, green and pink.  The children and grandchildren don’t all carry the same segments of blue, yellow, green and pink – but all of them carry some part of the original 4 founders.  There is no orange or turquoise or red DNA to be found, so forever, until new people enter the landscape, they will pass the same segments of blue, green, yellow and pink DNA to their descendants.  In an isolated environment, they might not meet new humans for thousands of years – lets’ say 10,000 years." Haplogroups once active are now lost. Jews have been around for almost 4,000 years from Abraham's time.
We have found that a haplotype of J1 leads from Aaron, brother of Moses and has been called the Cohen gene.   "Later research, using a larger number of Y-STR markers to gain higher resolution more specific genetic signatures, has indicated that about half of contemporary Jewish Kohanim, who share Y-chromosomal haplogroup J1c3 (also called J-P58), appear to be closely related.

Someone here may be carrying a J haplogroup , all Jewish
It would have to be one of the men, as the Y haplogroup is passed on from father to son, etc.
Cohens in the synagogue are special people.  They were selected by Moses starting with his brother, to be the priests of the people.  They have served in the synagogues all this time with certain functions such as reading first from the Torah on Saturday morning "Shabbat."  One does not need the surname of Cohen to be a Cohen, but they need the oral history from their family in lieu of a family tree.  It's something handed down from father to son.
In our case, many Jews have been killed since inception with Abraham.
When the Romans entered Jerusalem in about 60 BCE, they crucified 25,000 Jews until 70 CE when they burned the city down with the 1st Temple.   25,000 to 30,000 Jews that were left alive rebelled against the Romans  and were killed.   10,000 more  men were found and killed as well.
By 6 BC, when Jews were living in 2nd Temple times, the Zealots were founded, which was a political party by Judah the Galilean and Zadok, the priest who demanded non-compliance with the Roman demand for a census to be taken which was really an assessment of their property.   It was at this time that the Y haplotype was mutated from J1 to become J2 most likely through Pinchas, the Zealot.
"According to the Holy Scriptures the seed of Zadok is supposed to be countless and measureless. The promise avows that from Zadok seed Hashem will build a continued existence family tree and from this offspring Cohanim will be selected to perform sacrifices on the Beit Hamikdash. The prophet may soon arrive and he will make holy Cohanim, sons of Zadok, and Leviim to minister and safeguard the third Temple, respectively.
DNA revealed families from different Cohanim background with the precisely coalescence time allied, in J2 haplogroup, to Zadok. The Zadok Cohanim lineage is composed by 24 families strongly associated to Jewish priest caste, both in Ashkenazim and Sephardim communities. They present a DNA signature in J2 haplogroup that formed a well shaped tree with ramifications, branches and different houses as it should be in the face of of three thousand years of growth."
It was identified by DNA, 24 different families confirmed positive for the Zadokite Cohanim lineage (J2a4). All of these families are strongly related to Cohanim tradition both in Sephardic and Askenazim communities.  These families may represent the 24 houses of Zadok. from "Dr. Karl Skorecki of the Ramban/Technion Medical Center in Haifa

Zadok, son of Ahitub, a Cohen under King David:  II Sam-8:17, 15-29;   I Kin, 1:8, 34-40; 2:35, 4:4; I Chr. 8:16.  Zadok's sons were Ahimaaz and Azariah. Another important Kohan line was from Ahimelech, son of Abiathar.  (I Chronicles 18, 15-17.) I did not see Skorecki's references in either Samuel II, Kings I or I Chronicles.  It must be something else.

The Bible states that Zadok was a patrilineal descendant of Eleazar the son of Aaron the high priest.(2 Samuel 8:17;1 Chronicles 24:3) The lineage of Zadok is presented in the genealogy of Ezra (his descendant) as being of ninth generation of direct patrilineal descent from Phineas the son of Eleazar; Ezra 7:1, see 1 Chronicles 5:30 where he is placed ninth in descent from Phineas.  Eleazar had a brother, Ithamar, who was also a priest.  He and Eleazar together succeeded their father, Aaron in the priestly office.
The chief men of the descendants of Eleazar/Elazar  were found to be more numerous than those of the descendants of Ithamar...16 family heads for the sons of Eleazar, and 8 for the sons of Ithamar ..(Chromicles I 24-1-7). The Kohanim were from Alazar and Ihamar.

The Arch of Titus in Rome, a view of Jews being marched into the city carrying golden objects from Temple, the loot stolen by the Romans by 70 CE..
Finally, 1.1 million  more Jewish soldiers were killed by the Romans and the rest found were enslaved and most marched to Rome.  The slaves taken numbered 97,000 after Jerusalem was burned down.    There were about 50,000 Jews in and around Rome by the 1st Century CE, who were the poor, Greek-speaking foreigners scorned by Romans for their poverty and slave status.  Many later gained their freedom and continued to live in and around Rome.1
Top of Masada

Herod's Palace Here
This wasn't the end of the Jews.  960 men and women had found refuge at Masada, but after 3 years of holding out, committed mass suicide rather than be taken and                                                        subjected to any criminality.
By the year 37 to 100 CE, there were about 40,000 survivors left in Judea.
In 60 CE, it is also thought that there were about 700,000 left in Judea and 1,500,000 Jews were living in other places thoughout the land.  Many had been into trading and had moved away before 70 CE to carry on business.
The world population of Jews was now about 4,200,000 Jews before the year 132 when General Bar Kokhba, a descendant of King David, gathered up men who were his soldiers and attacked the Romans.  They took over Jerusalem and held it for 3 years, giving the Romans the hardest war they had ever fought in.  Bar Kokhba was finally killed in the battle in 135.  The Romans hadn't counterattacked  big-time until 133 when more came with an army of 35,000 under Hadrian and Julius Severus.  580,000 Jewish soldiers were killed during this final battle to regain Jerusalem.  Other Jews died from hunger and disease.  Now Jerusalem became a heathen city.

By 600 CE, Jews were living in many parats of Europe with small settlements in TGermany, France and Spain.  Eastward, there were also small Jewish settlements along the Black Sea as well as larger communities in Greece and the Balkans. 1.  By the 12th and 13th centuries, Jews were expelled from many countries of Western Europe still suffering under the "Christ Killers accusations of anti-Semitism" but were granted charters to settle in Poland and Lithuania.  Ashkenazi Jews spread quickly into Eastern Europe, growing from about a population of 15,000-25,000 in the 13-15th centuries to 2 million by 1800 and 8 million by 1939.  Eastern European Jews became the dominant culture of the European Jews and of most Jews throughout the world.
After all this, haplogroups were narrowed down to most likely far less than before.  The worst things was that so many men were killed most likely before they had fathered children.  If they did, girls do not carry the Y haplotype, only males do.  So many Y haplogroups could have been lost. Except, Jews basically came to be through family inheritance of one tribe.  Abraham most likely was of haplogroup J1.  I say this because at least half of the Cohens who serve in synagogues are found to be J1 and J2.  Arabs are also high in having the J1 haplogroup.  This is also showing the truth in the bible which states that Abraham's son by Hagar the Egyptian was Ishmael  who was father of the Arabs and his son by Sarah, his niece, was Isaac of the Jewish line.
Jews lined up to enter Camps of Death
To top off our narrow haplogroup left to us through fighting, we then faced the Holocaust of WWII from about 1939 to 1945.  6 million Jews were killed by the Nazis and their helpers.  That's 6,000,000.
War of Independence-attacked at announcement of being a state
1948's War of Independence for the Jews found 650,000 were populating the new tiny state.  They lost 6,000 of these people in the war, the most they have lost since then, probably the basis for another bottleneck.
Perhaps this explains why at times a Cohen's shoes had to be filled by someone not of the immediate family.  Women have been known to marry outsiders who were also Jews.  If a tribal group needed to, they did marry outsiders and convert them.  For the Y haplogroup, J1 remains the largest group, but we also see E, G, Q, I, and R of various branches.  As for the women who pass on the mtDNA haplogroup, who number more outsiders originally than the Jewish men, we see K, H, N, J and W repeatedly.
Pinchas is told about in Numbers in the Torah.25:1-30.  He was the son of Elazar, son of Aaron who was Moses's brother and it was Aaron who was selected to be the new High Priest.  Pichas's maternal grandfather was Jethro, a pagan  Midianite priest and father of Zipporah, Moses' wife (Exod 2-3).  The Druze still honor Jethro as Nebi Shu'aib at the shrine near Kephar Hittin.
We have many J1 and now J2, both known as Cohens.  Through the ages, the high priest was sometimes appointed politically instead of father to son.  (read reference in Jewish Encyclopedia)

Update: 12:15 Noon:  My Cohen friend is a J-M267 or J1 and also is a Cohen in the synagogue.  The line is said to be 20,000 years old and originated between Anatolia and Mesopotamia.  Studies were done by Hammer & Behar in 2009 and they tested 215 Jewish Cohanim and found 46% of them were of the J1 haplogroup.  Then Hammer studied 1,360 Jews per se and found 14.9% were also Cohens.  Nogueiro studied 57 Jews of Portugal and found 12.3% were Cohens.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haplogroup_J-M267

The BDS Virus: American Women Association Vote Blindly Against Israel in BDS

Nadene Goldfoot
Israel is against Apartheid, which the BDS people keep on accusing them of practicing.  This only shows how ignorant these voters against Israel are.  Israel has Jews from every corner of the earth living here along with 1.7 million Muslims who also are in the Knesset and every other form of life in Israel-except the army.  If their conscience doesn't allow them, they don't have to serve.  Those that want to, do.  One of my favorite people in Israel is an IDF soldier who is a Masai warrior from Kenya, Africa.  He's also a lawyer and rabbi in civilian life.
Again, reason and logic are being thrown aside for mass hysteria.  Harry S. Truman voted and backed the new state of Israel, but his voters today have thrown his ideals aside in mass favor of Palestinians.  The leaders in the USA of the National Women's Studies Association , NWSA, just voted for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions-BDS of economic, military and cultural entities and projects sponsored by the State of Israel.   Covering an array like this, they are against the state of Israel's existence.

Druze Arab
Christian Arab Female

The leaders made sure no one would change their minds that they were leading them into by not telling the Jewish Caucus of their goals.  They then sponsored official sessions where speakers presented only one side in the BDS debate, most of which could not have been based on facts.  These included a 2014 list of accusations against Israel and gloating misinformation about the Palestinians, all one-sided.  No Israeli was ever asked to speak in support of their little state.  The attendees there only heard a litany of accusations against Israel.  They were then asked to stand "In support of freedom and justice for and in Palestine."

Israel does not practice any form, shape or otherwise of apartheid.  Israel's democracy is the opposite of the South African past history, yet the uneducated anti-Semites keep throwing this false accusation in Israel's face, just like the Middle Ages of Europe claimed that Jews poisoned the wells or used blood in making matzos.
Dr. Janet Freedman, Hadassah member and writer of my resource article, found that those she spoke with about the resolution of these NWSA women hadn't even read the resolution that they were to vote on.  This is also true of what happened in Portland, Oregon where the city council's unpaid volunteer committee did the same thing and got their committee to also pass a resolution to BDS 4 companies doing business in Israel.  Two voters were Jews who didn't even read the resolution, they confessed, and wanted another chance to re-vote, but no such thing ever happens in real life and it didn't here, either.  The mayor said he'd try to do something about this.  We haven't heard a thing yet.

The BDS movement, started by Palestinians, is not trying to bring Jews and Palestinians together to live in peace.  The BDS people do not want to be confused with facts and have been refusing to listen to any.  Supporters at this conference damned Israel and included language that Israel should not be allowed to even exist.  This is language straight out of Hamas' s charter that Fatah has also adopted.

Palestinians throwing rocks at Jews on Temple Mount, Jerusalem
Though it has been the Palestinians who have been terrorizing Israelis, all this is excused in their need to respond to the Israelis.  They demonize Israelis by complaining about the so called aggression, they cry. They must be addressing the Israeli IDF who have finally responded to thousands and thousands of rockets, mortars and missiles hurled down on their little space of a state by Gazans who refused to stop. They must think that Jews were aggressive when they try to stop Palestinians knifing passers-by in Jerusalem and elsewhere in attempts to murder them.

Within the caucus are Jewish women who feel it would be damaging to their careers to openly oppose the resolution, and they have not stood for Israel's right to exist.  This is a shunda gadol, a huge mistake.  This is the left winning over reason, logic and love for Israel and Judaism.  We sure don't have any Bar Kokhba's descendants here in this group!

Freedman feels that "the BDS movement directs our energy away from ways to find a peaceful solution that respects the humanity of both Israelis and Palestinians.  It oversimplifies to the point of gross inaccuracies." What it is is the Palestinian leadership finding a way to get backing  to drive Israel into the sea without them shooting a shot as they  economically fracture Israel's finances, for it is meant to isolate Israel completely.  It is led by Christian Protestants with leadership from  Palestinians against Israel.  Here we see anti-Semitism go overboard to do something against Jews who couldn't possibly be in the right.

The Left-following orders
The leadership is led by gut reaction against Israel.  The steering committees of groups who vote don't even study the resolution presented much less read it.  People have become sheep and just do as they are asked.  That this group represented higher education is all the more reason of them doing a damning thing.  People of supposedly higher than normal IQ's are expected to use them, and in this case they have not.

They know nothing of the Palestinian history, who they are, what they have done to Israel, or what Israel has tried to do for them.  What were these women studying, anyway?  How to cook?  How to dress?  Certainly not anything in the Middle East.

BDS is a hate-filled movement, spreading hatred for Jews and Israel.  Israel will survive, just like they have survived the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973 along with all the Intefadas and riots and attacks by the Palestinians and their co-horts,  but the BDSers will be long remembered for their antagonism and anti-Semitism.  It will be recorded in history books and in the Book of Life.

In 1967 from June 5th to the 11th,  the world admired Israel for a short while since they overcame all odds of an aggressive Middle East who again tried to crush them but failed.  The odds where breathtaking that Israel won.  The little state, single handed, won the war in 6 days!  Syria, Egypt,  Jordan, Iraq and even  the Soviet Union was against Israel.

What Israel has been up against was said by President Aref of Iraq on June 1, 1967 on Radio Baghdad:
WE ARE RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND UNITED TO ACHIEVE OUR CLEAR AIM OF WIPING ISRAEL OFF THE MAP...THIS IS THE DAY TO WASH AWAY THE STAIN.   GOD WILLING, WE SHALL MEET IN TEL AVIV AND HAIFA.

Ahmed Shukairi, leader of the PLO-Palestine Liberation Organization was interviewed on June 4th on the fate of native-born Israelis.  He said, :THOSE WHO SURVIVE WILL REMAIN IN PALESTINE, BUT I ESTIMATE THAT NOT MANY OF THEM WILL SURVIVE.

They are still trying, aren't they?  And Americans have fallen right in.  Like Dr. Freedman said, "The voices of Jews and others whose positions are rooted in the right of Israel to exist as a state have been silenced."  Well, Janet, mine hasn't been silenced.  Victor Sharpe's voice hasn't been silenced.  There are many others, but certainly the Jewish voices of  NWSA have been silenced, unless they find they have a spine and start educating themselves about Israel.

9/11 Terror Attack on the USA and a Presidential Hat in the Ring Remembers In Shock

Nadene Goldfoot

Donald J. Trump brings to question  the Muslims living in New Jersey.  He remembers thousands celebrating 9/11 outside a mosque and said he saw them celebrating on TV.

A Patterson, New Jersey fellow also said, "“And I watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering.” This story can be read at http://www.infowars.com/i-live-in-jersey-and-trump-is-right-muslims-did-celebrate-on-911-in-nj-we-saw-it/.

Here's one from CNN itself titled "American Muslims celebrating."  It didn't mention thousands, just hundreds, though.

New Jersey does have a large Muslim population for a little state.  They have at least 56 mosques.  This information comes from "Mosque Distribution in the United States.  They have about 200,000 Muslims which is 4.0% of the population.

"There were calculated to be 2.595 million Muslim adherents across the United States in 2010. Islamic populations are 0.6% of the US population per Fareed Zakaria quoting Pew Research Center, 2010.   New Jersey has the second largest Muslim percentage with 0.9%. "

"Calling itself the Global Muslim e Community, IslamiCity.com has compiled information about Muslims in the United States since 1995. Its online database tallies more than 2,300 mosques, Islamic schools, and organizations in the 50 states. Listed here by state is the number of  mosques in the IslamiCity.com database in December 2008. The statistic for the District of Columbia is from the Islamic Center of Washington, DC. The total is 1,018."

This tiny state made of 8,729 sq miles is the 46th  of 50 states,  The smallest is Rhode Island.   The Jewish population in New Jersey in 2014 was 516,450.  In 2013, the total population of New Jersey was 8,901,163.

"Current projections estimate New Jersey will have a population of 9.2 million residents by 2020, although it's hard to guess how long the growth can continue."

All over the world, we saw reports of Muslim groups celebrating the 9/11 horror.  While we all cried, they cheered.  I was in Annapolis, Maryland and was in my daughter's kitchen when a friend telephoned and told us to turn our TV on.  We were in shock.  I think the whole USA was in shock, as well.  I was to fly back to Oregon in a few hours, and now my plans were halted. What I remember mostly is seeing the freeways, avenues and streets of Annapolis streaming with American flags flying from car windows like a parade.  Everyone suddenly had their car  mounted with them.  It was a beautiful sight in defense of an American attack.

I don't know if Trump's memory is faulty or not.  We all saw this happen somehow, on TV somewhere, and we were furious at the sight.  3,000 people died that day.  It was the world disaster that happened to our country.

2000 Years of The Jewish Kings Leading to Chanukah and Beyond

                                                                                   Nadene Goldfoot
12 Tribes of Jacob-Israel from 12 Sons-
The Exodus happened in about 1445 BCE.

Judges were first to solve the problems of the people.  These judged from about 1220 to 1015 BCE.  As in most tribes, the elders of the community acted as judges.  There were Othniel, Ehud, Deborah, Gideon, Jephthah, Samson, Shamgar, Tola, Jair, Ibzan, Elon, and Abdon
Notice where the tribe of Simeon is on the map.  Simeon was the 2nd son of Jacob.  To protect his sister, Dinah's good name, he and Levi attacked the men of the tribe of the man who had kidnapped her.  Gen. 34.  Jacob, his father, didn't agree with this act.  Simeon's tribe received territory in Eretz Yisrael in 2 places of the Negev.  At one time they lived in Seir/Edom- south of the Dead Sea and along the Red Sea at Eleath and Ezion Geber.  Semetic people lived here, the Edomites and were descendants of Esau and lived by hunting. Some settled in the mountains of Ephraim.

1. The first king of Israel was from the tribe of Benjamin, Saul.  c1040-1010 BCE.
2. David was from the tribe of Judah. 1010 -970 BCE
3. Solomon, his son, followed from 961-920 BCE  This was an inherited position.  Sons followed.

Israel then divided between north and south.
The southern part renamed itself Judah since the tribe of Judah lived there along with some Benjaminites.

Judah had been taken to Babylonia by 586 BCE and were in exile.  The authority of the exilarchs in Babylonia was the basis of the authority until the 14th century CE.  From the 2nd century BCE, the Davidic house was thought to be the one to deliver the Messiah.

Hashmonean kings were also filling the role as high priests, too.  Jewish revolutionary movements of the 1st and 2nd centuries CE produced many claimants to be the messianic kingship. There were Andreas, Lukuas, General Bar Kokhba, etc.

The Hasmoneans was the name of a priestly family  and dynasty founded by Mattathias of Modiin and were called the Hashmonai (Hashmoneans).  Mattathias had 5 sons;   Judah the Maccabee, Jonathan, simon, John and Eleazar.  The directed the popular revolt against the hellenizing policy in Israel-Judah by the Syrian king Antiochus Epiphanes.

From 166-164 BCE, the Hasmoneans fought a number of battles against the Syrians and in 164 BCE, Judah captured Jerusalem and rededicated the Temple.  We celebrate this event to this day as Chanukah!

This was followed up by a series of raids to rescue the Jewish population of Ammon, Idumea, Gilead and the Galilee.  They were then defeated in 163 at Bet Zechariah where Eleazar was killed.  The Hasmoneans were able to get terms securing religious freedom for the Jews, but Judah and his party kept on fighting anyway and Judah fell at Elasa in 160 BCE.  John was murdered afterwards and Jonathan took over the leadership.  He then became the high priesthood in 152 BCE and governorship of Judah in 150 BCE.  Simon was able to get exemption from tribute from the Jews in 147 BCE.  He was then confirmed by the people as hereditary high priest, ethnarch and general in 142 BCE but was then murdered in 135 BCE.  His son, John Hyrcanus succeeded him and was defeated horribly by Antiochus VII Sidetes, .  Jerusalem was then taken by the Syrians after a prolonged siege and  Judea once more became a Seleucid province.

After the defeat of Antiochus in his war against Parthia, John launched an offense against Transjordan, Samaria and Idumea which marked the transition of the Hasmoneans to a semii-hellenized secular military dynasty.  This led to his repudiation of the Pharisees and his belonging to the aristocratic Sadducee party.

Herod, king -73 BCE-4 BCE-governor over the Galilee before becoming king of Judah.  His mother was Cypros, a Nabatean and his father was Antipater the Idumean.  He had been appointed king by the Senate in Rome.  He then captured Jerusalem in 37 BCE with a large Roman force.  He left a will.  In it he partitioned his kingdom which went to his sons, Archaelaus, Herod Antipas, and Philip.
He was succeeded by his sons Judah Aristobulus in 105-104 BCE and Alexander Yannai in 104-76 BCE. Yanni was the first to adopt the royal title. He set up a standing mercenary army and conquered Transjordan, Idumea and the coastal plain.  The Pharisees were the leaders during the reign of his widow, Salome Alexandra from 76 to 69 BCE.  When she died, the Hasmonean power declined.  She had sons Hyrcanus II and Aristobulus II who were not in agreement.  Their behavior led to the domination of Antipater and his son, Herod  the Idumean, who now had Roman help in taking over as king.  Pompey reduced the country's territory in 63 BCE.  Hyrcanus was just a puppet.

Aristobulus II and his sons Alexander and Antigonus Mattathias tried to regain power but failed.  Hyrcanus' granddaughter, Mariamne married Herod who put her to death in 29 BCE along with  other surviving Hasmoneans being Aristobulus II in 35 BCE,  Hyrcanus II in 30 BCE, and Mariamane's sons Alexander and Aristobulus in 7 BCE.  So ended the line of Hasmonean leadership after the fall of Judea.

Proven by DNA, We Are Original Jews

722 BCE  Assyrian Empire
Notice that Jerusalem is on this map.  It's been there since King David 1010 BCE.
Part of Western Asia with Semitic people
Kings David and Solomon had success against the Aramean states in Mesopotamia and Syria that helped Assyria recover from lost battles.
Egypt,  Israel , Arabia. Lebanon and Syria ,called Aram originally, now turning into IS, are the oldest countries in the Middle East.  Egypt has been there forever.  The Egyptians  probably have changed very little. The Egyptians started off in about 3200 to 2686 BCE in the Early Dynastic Period.  By the time Abraham came along with descendant, Jacob, it was already the period for Egyptians of the Middle Kingdom from 2055 to 1650 BCE which was the 11th and 12th dynasties. Probably the first Hebrew immigration into Egypt was when the Semitic Hyksos Dynasty of 18th to 16th centuries BCE.

It's then that Egypt was closely involved in Palestinian affairs, proven by the Tel-el-Amarna letters which   tell of the first Israelite incursions into Egypt.  Moses was born during the Egyptian's New Kingdom period of 1550 to 1069 BCE which was their 18th to 20th Dynasty period.  If anything, a few Jews may bear  segments of Egyptian chromosomes due to rapes, etc while living under slavery.  If an Egyptian man begat a male child, it would have had a new haplotype.  King Solomon married an Egyptian princess.  Before that, Abraham had relations with the Egyptian Princess Hagar, handmaiden of wife Sarah, and had a child.

12 Tribes of Judah-Israel
Israel is right behind them in age.  Abraham lived in Canaan around 1800 BCE.  That's how far back the original band of 70 go led by Jacob, his grandson.  Then 400 years were spent in Egypt as slaves and returning 40 years later to live there permanently transpired.  They returned with not only the descendants of the original family of Abraham, but also with other slaves who had been captured by the Egyptians.  All were freed and followed Moses.  By DNA, we find that the family of Jacob probably carried the J1 haplotype, and the other haplotypes of E, G, etc found in the Jewish men could have had this reason for haplotypes other than J1.  Even after 400 years of living in Egypt and becoming slaves, the 12 tribes did a good job of living among their tribal members while under forced labor.  .

Joshua entered the land for Moses, who died just outside at the age of 120.  From then on, they had to fight Canaanites and Phoenicians for the land.  These people were killed in the fight, and if not, were assimilated into the family of Israelites, for that is what the people of Moses and Joshua were called, Israelites and the land was Israel.  Jacob, the ancestor of Abraham, had been so named as Israel, and it was he who led the band of 70 originally.

1st king of Israel
The Israelites had 3 kings of importance; Saul, David and his son, Solomon.  When King Solomon died in 920 BCE, the Israelite kingdom split with the southern part which belonged to the tribe of Judah, parted from the north and became Judah.  They fought for a while over political differences.  Jerusalem stayed with Judah.

These Israelites, once called Hebrews as they had entered from the East into Ur and birthed Abraham, stayed together until 722 BCE when the Assyrians attacked and took away 10 of the 12 tribes of Jacob (Israel).  Today we know they were pretty well scattered throughout Assyria.  Many Pashtuns of Afghanistan and Pakistan have claimed descendency from this group.

Babylonian Empire 586 BCE
It was known as the land of Shinar or of the Kasdim (Chaldees).
Part of Western Asia
By 597 and 586 BCE, The Babylonians attacked and also carried away slaves.  The Israelites and Judeans were not killed, but used as slaves.  In the olden days, people were killed in battle, but others were taken for slaves, just like the Greeks and Romans did.   At this point in time, the Israelites  were becoming a mixture of people who had been taken into the fold of their family as husbands and wives.  The southern part of Judah  underwent whole conversion.  That's another source of a different haplotype.

Chaim Weizmann, Jew, on left and Emir Feisal on right.
Feisal Ibn Hussein 1885-1933 was the eldest son of Hussein, sherif of Mecca. He was from Saudi Arabia.   Feisal became King of Iraq from 1921 CE.
Chaim Weizmann 1874-1952 was born at Motel, near Pinsk, Belarus. A chemist, became the 1st president of Israel.  Belarus was one of states Jews were allowed to live in by the Russians.  We were not allowed to "mix in" with other people of Russia.
The accusation by Muslims today is that Jews living in Israel today are not the same as the original Jews.  I beg to differ.  If anyone is the same in this world from 4,000 years ago, it most likely is the Egyptians and the Jews.  Take me, for instance.  DNA can find how much Neanderthal genes I carry in my cells, which is 2.9%.  If they can go back that far, don't you realize they can do a pretty good job in finding my Jewish genes?  Realize that I was born Jewish.  That's the ticket.  We are born Jewish.  If our mother is Jewish, we are born Jewish.  It's an inherited religion that goes back to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  Once we are born, we are labeled as a Jew.  In the world since the days of the Greeks and Roman Empires, that has been a stigma.  Nobody has wanted to cavort with a Jew.  In turn, most of us prefer to marry within our own religion anyway..

It's like being born purple.  We are marked.  We have also been marked so much that we have been locked up in ghettos and have not been allowed to mix in a general population to find mates.  So we have become an endogamous society.  That means we've been forced to keep on intermarrying with each other throughout the centuries and when not forced, a preference.  It's been a rather closed society.  The only division has been after 70 CE when some in escaping a burning Jerusalem and death stayed within the state of Judah and their descendants are today's Mizrachim.  Others traveled to what was to become Spain and are today's Sefardim. They, because of the Spanish Inquisition, have had more incidences of intermarriage leading to less distinctive DNA than the Ashkenazis who were the  other Jews  who most likely were already taken to Rome or lived there as traders before 70 CE were forced to leave and go to what became France and Germany and became the European branch or Ashkenazim Jews.  The Ashkenazim have been relatively homogeneous despite the fact that they are spread throughout Europe and have since immigrated to the Americas and a few back to Israel.

"About 80% of today's Jewish males and 50% of Jewish females trace their ancestry back to the Middle East.  The rest entered the "Jewish gene pool  through conversion or intermarriage.  Those who did intermarry often left the faith in a generation or 2, in effect pruning the Jewish genetic tree.  Many converts became interwoven into the Jewish genealogical line.  Remember Ruth, of Moab who married Boaz and became the great-grandmother of King David.  She began as an outsider, but you don't get much more Jewish than the bloodline of King David!"

Some misguided people are so devoid of our history that they think Jews just popped up in Europe.  I know this because I've been assailed by this accusation on some of my articles.   They think that the creation of Israel was done by Europeans, and have no business there.  Not so at all.

Many Jews are unaware of their own history.  Because of WWII and 6 million Jews being slaughtered, many lost records of their family lines, records that were quite well kept as of 1040 when RASHI, the great biblical commentator was born in Troyes, France.  Take me, for instance.  I knew that my paternal grandfather, carrier of the DNA haplotype of Q1b1a, was born and raised in Telsiai, Lithuania and managed to get himself to Council, Idaho and then Portland, Oregon.  That's what I knew.  What DNA has supplied me with along with a method called triangulation, was that I discovered our connection to Austrian and German Jews.  Our surname was German as well, being Goldfus in the original form.  So I  found out  that our migration pattern went from Rome (where I have DNA segments) to RASHI through a Rabbi Wertheimer who lived in Worms, Germany born in 1658.  From then to 1870, my ancestors made it to Lithuania.

Looking at history, the reason Jews left Germany and Austria way back then over 1,000 years ago was political and anti-Semitic.  As they kept on traveling north, they would be invited to live in a country, and then expelled for these same reasons.  Finally, terrible anti-Semitism in Russian lands caused many to take the fairly dangerous trip to the United States or "Palestine.' before the USA was available.  Our grandparents found anti-Semitism here as well, but usually didn't lead to pogroms and death.  Europe was another story.  Anti-Semitism was gaining power, causing many European Jews to emigrate to their homeland, now called Palestine.  They started the creation of the original homeland, Israel.

The Jordanians are not native of the land of Israel.  They came from Arabia, losing out on being king, Abdullah  I wanted to have a kingdom in another part of the Middle East.  Palestinian Arabs originally called themselves Palestinian Syrians.   They were from those northern tribes originally and many surrounding neighbors according to the research done by Joan Peters, who went to original sources in her book about their history.   Only a very few owned land in Palestine at the time of the 1880 Russian Jewish aliyah.  More came to the land seeking jobs with the newly arriving Jews.

Lebanon is mentioned in the Bible in relation to the Cedars of Lebanon when they were used by Solomon in building the Temple.  The Jewish population living there goes back to ancient times.  Jews lived in Beirut, Tripoli, Tyre and Sidon and were traders.

Syria (Aram)  never did have a homogeneous state.  The coast was settled by Phoenicians.  Syria was overrun by the Assyrians in the 8th century BCE.  Jews lived here in Antioch  as well, most likely traders.  During the Seleucid era from 323 BCE to 64 BCE, Jews suffered from the hostility of the Greeks.  The most important Aramean kingdom in Syria in the 10th to 8th centuries BCE was Aram-Dammesek, called after its capital, Damascus/Hebrew is Dammesek.   In 920 BCE, when Israel was divided into Israel and Judah it became the great danger to Israel.

Abram-Abraham-1948 BCE
Abraham came from Aram-Naharaim or Aram of the 2 Rivers.  This was the biblical description for the NE area of Mesopotamia.  It's the land of origin of the patriarchs, and nearly all the names of the ancestors of Abraham, that is Serug, Nahor, and Terah,  all correspond to place-names in this region.  Abraham was the father of Ishmael through Hagar, the Egyptian  and the father of Isaac through his wife, Sarah, who was his niece-family.  Abraham's father was Terah.  Abraham's brother was Haran, who was the father of Sarah.  Nahor was Terah's father.  Serug was Nahor's father.  They keep going back till they reach Shem, one of the 3 sons of Noah.  There was Ham, Japheth, and Shem.  Abraham must have brought the story of the Flood with him and passed it onto his children.

As Noah passed on his story of his flood to his children, so we Jews have passed on our story of our purpose and existence through our Torah.  No, we didn't pop up in Europe.  Our ancestors, of who we carry with us in our DNA, knew Jacob-Israel and the 12 tribes very well.  Jews have claimed back their land.

Jews have been afraid of the concept that Judaism might be a race, but medical geneticist, Harry Ostrer insists the "biological basis of Jewishness" cannot be ignored.
