UN's Javier Solana's Call For 2 State Solution Regardless of Circumstances

Nadene Goldfoot

Javier Solana, the EU's foreign policy chief, called for the UN Security Council in July of 2009  to recognize a Palestinian state by a deadline even if Israelis and Palestinians have not reached agreement among themselves.  In other words, he's telling ALL the European nations to do this, and why?  Does he think it's going to bring peace between the two entities?  What it will do will give power to a terrorist group, Hamas,  sitting in Gaza who will overcome another older terrorist group, Fatah, and then continue to make war against Israel and have the advantage of being on their doorstep.  The logical thing was to have a reason to want to make peace, and this the Palestinians do not have.  Instead, they live by the code of killing off Israelis and taking over their land.  In a sense, this would be helping out ISIS who would then take over all anyway.

In late 2004, Solana held secret negotiations with Hamas leaders, saying that he met them at a time when there seemed to be an opportunity for progress, and were to "pass a clear message of what the international community wants", and said that the meetings occurred "months" before.

A rare moment when Fatah and Hamas unified .
The terrorists, Fatah and Hamas leaders, signed a reconciliation deal in April of 2014.
The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, chairing a security cabinet following the signing, told ministers: "Today, Abu Mazen [as President Mahmoud Abbas is known] said yes to terrorism and no to peace."
This ultimatum was 7 years ago, and Israel and these Arabs led by Hamas and Fatah are still not after any peace with Israel.  They have said that they will not revive peace talks unless there is a halt to Israel's settlement in Judea and Samaria, in which they intend to kick out Jews living there now.  They want it Judenrein (free of Jews.)  They said this while 1.7 million Arabs were citizens of Israel.  Israel may be open minded, but not these Arabs.

Solana said that they should proclaim the adoption of the 2-state solution which would include border parameters, refugees, control over the city of Jerusalem (King David's City) and security arrangements.  Then Palestine would be a full member of the UN.  They would mandate other remaining territorial disputes-probably referring to land inside of Judea-Samaria that is holy to Jews,  and then the UN would legitimize the end of claims.

Ban Ki-moon of UN slams Israel over Settlements
After  Quartet Report in 2013
Solana advocated the impossible; the return to Israel's borders before the 1967 war started by Egypt, Syria and Jordan in which Israel won Judea and Samaria.  You win the war but lose the land according to Solana if you are a Jewish country.  He is an impossible man.  He said that if the 2 parties couldn't stick to a timetable for a peace agreement, then a solution backed by the international community should be put on the table.

The EU, with the USA, Russia and the UN, is part of the Quartet of Middle East Negotiators.  No wonder a solution could not be abided.  It doesn't concern them at all.  They just want it over and done with, so they think.

Solana was Secretary General of NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, which is a military alliance of European and North American democracies founded after World War II to strengthen international ties between member states—especially the United States and Europe—and to serve as a counter-balance to the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact. The
USA pays most of their required finances which is why Trump thought about not belonging to it anymore.
Who is this man who wields so much power in the EU?  Javier Solana is a Spanish physicist and politician, and is a member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE).   After serving in the Spanish government under Felipe González in various posts among which as Minister of Foreign Affairs between 1992 and 1995, he was appointed Secretary General of NATO. Following this, he was appointed the European Union's High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, Secretary General of the Council of the European Union and Secretary-General of the Western European Union and held these posts from October 1999 until December 2009.

Munich, Germany, by the Quartet principals – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, US Secretary of State John Kerry, European Union (EU) High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, and UN Deputy Secretary General Jan Eliasson, representing the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon.The Middle East Quartet, made up of the US, EU, UN, and Russia, is scheduled to release a major policy report later in coming weeks, and senior diplomats involved in its drafting have indicated that the US is taking a far harder line on Israel than in the past.
[Arutz Sheva] May 2016

Solana has played a big role working toward a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and continues to be a primary architect of the "Road Map for Peace," along with the UN, Russia, and the United States in the Quartet on the Middle East. On 22 July 2004 he met Ariel Sharon in Israel. Sharon had originally refused to meet Solana, but eventually accepted that, whether he liked it or not, the EU was involved in the Road Map.

Israel also said it would act – including in the international community –to prevent Palestinian elections taking place which included the participation of Hamas.  He criticized Israel, accusing them  of obstructing the Palestinian presidential election of 9 January 2005, but then met Sharon again on 13 January.    The new Palestinian Council  won  on January 25, 2006. " The Battle of Gaza, also referred to as Hamas' takeover of Gaza, was a military conflict between Fatah and Hamas, that took place in the Gaza Strip between the 10th and 15th of June 2007."  The conflict between Fatah and Hamas had been simmering since Hamas won the Palestinian legislative elections in January 2006. After Hamas' victory, Fatah refused to join a grand coalition."  The Bush Administration would not have been quiet about expecting to see a democratic election in Gaza, not realizing the ways Hamas secured their "democratic " votes.  This was a new experience for these Arabs.

Obama insisted that the Egyptians have a democratic vote for president    and they voted in Morsi by 51 to 48.  "Obama pressured  the Egyptian army to submit.  Meanwhile, the Brotherhood’s newfound power gave Hamas unprecedented strategic depth to its rear, inspiring it to start a war with Israel in 2012.

Read more at: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/386166/how-obama-caused-gaza-war-ira-straus and look at the outcome; Hamas terrorists have been ruling ever since and attacking Israel with rockets, mortars and missiles.  We have the EU to thank!

In 2010, after he had left office, he signed a petition along with 25 other EU leaders directed at his successor, Catherine Ashton, calling for EU sanctions on Israel in response to continued settlement construction in the West Bank.  Israel had waited for a year without touching the land that they won in 1967 but the Arabs did not change their stance and did not come to a table in peace.  According to the EU, through an attack that led to their winning, they still cannot touch land twice proclaimed theirs:  once by G-d and once by . the League of Nations (1st UN).
So must have started the BDS movement against Israel.

There are many facets against the idea of peace between the Arabs and Israel, though the
thought of peace is tempting, it is impossible to achieve until there is a change in the Arab's
 policy.
Israel has always wanted peace, but the Arab nations have not.  One wonders what G-d was
ever thinking of when he wanted Israelites to live among them.  The children of Abraham couldn't
get along during Abraham's lifetime and now must learn to do so.

To have Solana ride the herd in the EU is frightening.  It brings back thoughts of the Spanish
Inquisition and their brutal orders of death in trying to destroy Judaism.  It looks like Solana rules
with an iron fist.

The EU, Europe, the lands who brutalized Jews for 2,000 years, now have
again become dictators of peace with terms again against the rights for Jews.  They're not
surviving as a whole union, though.  England has just dropped out.  Their own countries are not
in a stable condition.  They need to mind their own fences and stop being couch potatoes who
are meddling into the problems of others.  It's great when friends can help solve problems and
honestly help out, but becoming a dictator is not being a friend in need.

Solana has been replaced by Federica Mogherini b: June 16, 1973 of Italy since November 1, 2014.
Federica was born when Israel was about to be in the war of 1973, the Yom Kippur War. Mogherini has expressed that she also wants the EU to play a leading role in trying to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks after a U.S.-brokered process foundered in April 2014. She visited the region within days of starting her new job. She pushed to revitalise the Middle East Quartet – together with the United Nations, the United States, and Russia – and to involve key Arab countries in relaunching the peace process: the first “Quartet plus” meeting, with Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the Arab League, took place on the sides of the UN General Assembly in New York, on 30 September 2014.

The United States had been a barren land, and allowed settlers to land if they worked it.

Is this why the EU and cohorts are against Israel building in Judea and Samaria?  It's been 49 years

since Israel won back their own land.  It there some unwritten clause about 50 years and lying

fallow to allow Jordan to claim it back?

Samarian Arab House On Fire Possible Frame Up Against Jews

Nadene Goldfoot
Israel today in the green.
Judea-Samaria in yellow-the possible Arab Palestine
if and when they ever sign a peace treaty
Those Jews accused on January 1st  of firebombing  a Palestinian home in Duma, Samaria, were "Amiram Ben-Uliel, 21,  for carrying out an attack   that murdered three members of the Dawabsheh family.   He's the son of a rabbi, rabbi for a pre-military academy in the village of Nokdim.  He had left school following academic difficulties and became more extremist.   E., a minor, was also charged with being an accessory to the crime.  "E., 17, grew up in a well-known and established village in Aish Kodesh.   The fact that he is underage means that his identity remains under wraps even after the general gag order over the Duma investigation was lifted.  His family was good, religious, and one of the Zionist elite.  "E.'s life led him out of the structure of educational institutions. Up until two years ago, he studied in a yeshiva in the Binyamin area, but at some point he decided to drop out and stopped going to school.' He became involved with a group of rebels.  "According to the Shin Bet, the dozens of youngsters belonging to the group have developed a new anti-Zionist ideology with the aim of overthrowing the government, crowning a king of Israel and rebuilding the Temple."  Little do they realize that there is a very serious group of adults all ready to stock a Temple once it is created, a Temple society who have studied our history very carefully.  They wait patiently, not like these teen-agers, so that when the time does come, they will be ready.   In response to E.'s indictment, Chai Haber, his lawyer, said: "Sadly we have come to a day which is a badge of shame for the rule of law in Israel. The charges are based on confessions extracted from people under torture and severe violence."   In the wake of the hearings, the judge who ruled on the extension of E.'s arrest,  was subjected to a wave of incitement.
To Put the Situation in Perspective of a
July 31 2015 firebomb attack of a Palestinian home in Duma, Samaria,
we must know this history.
1920 Mandate for Palestine after the Ottoman Empire
Lost it to the Allies: in WWI:   Promised to be Jewish National Home
Israel today is made of 20% of the land that was to become Israel.
East Jerusalem in foreground, in background lies Judea and Samaria

You only have to drive north from Jerusalem for 40 minutes and you will find yourself in the geographic center of Samaria on a mostly barren hilltop where the Jewish village of Aish Kodesh happens to be.

The 2016 population of Judea-Samarian Jews  is:  47% National Religious (Religious Zionist Movement now a political party) , 30% Haredi (rejection of modern secular culture. Its members are often referred to as strictly Orthodox or ultra-Orthodox in English) and 22 % Secular (Jews, period-might not follow everything-non orthodox, possibly more nationalistic-non affiliated).
Aish Kodesh, small Jewish village

Duma, Arab town of 2,220 in 2014 in Samaria
25 km (15 1/2 miles) SE of Nablus, new name for Shechem  in Bible where
biblical patriarchs camped under its walls, in the territory of Ephraim,
a levitical city and city of refuge, center of House of Joseph where
Joseph is buried.

Aish Kodesh is in between the Jewish town of Shilo which is 25 miles N. of Jerusalem  (where the Ark and Tabernacle were kept during the period of the Judges and first Jewish center after taking Canaan by Joshua) and the Palestinian town of Duma.  " The population in 2005 was under 12 families. Aish Kodesh was established in 2000 as an Israeli outpost, for security reasons.  It was named for a terrorist victim, Esh Kodesh Gilmore, 25, who was murdered by Palestinian terrorists while working as a security guard at a branch of the National Insurance Institution East Jerusalem.  Esh Kodesh is also a book of sermons delivered by the Admor of Piaseczno in the Warsaw Ghetto from the outbreak of World War II in September 1939 until July 1942, when the Jews of the ghetto were deported to the death camp at Treblinka.  This is quite a heavy history for any children born in this village to bear.

Now, we all hear about Judea and Samaria, which the state of Jordan renamed THE WEST BANK.  Judea was the southern part of the kingdom of Israel which was all of what the Romans renamed as Palestine in 130.  When King Solomon died in 920 BCE, this southern part broke off by the largest tribe of Judah, and called it Judah with its own government due to a dispute with Solomon's heir to the throne.
Samaria happened to be the capital of the Northern kingdom of Israel after King Solomon died and when Judea was formed out of  southern Israel which was founded in about 880 BCE by King Omri (king from 887 to 876 BCE.  Judea had kept Jerusalem as their capital.  The army had proclaimed Omri king. He was the 6th king of Israel with Jeroboam being the 1st after Solomon had died.   ) .  The ancient land of Israel has  sometimes been called Samaria.  The Assyrians (attacking in 722 and 721 BCE)   called the kingdom of Israel by Omri's name for the rest of its existence.  Ruins remain there from Roman days, especially from the 3rd century CE.  It became a village in the Arab period.  The name was also used for the entire northern region of the central highlands of Palestine.  Now we do indeed have an Israel but it doesn't include Judea and Samaria, our ancient homeland. Israel has not annexed it as Jordan did back in 1950.  It's to become the Muslim's 49th state-Palestine.  Yes, there are 48 Muslim majority states in the world now-before a Palestine comes into being.  Israel is the one and only Jewish state in the world.

Judea and Samaria make up 2,270 sq. miles.  640,600 Arabs lived in Judaea and Samaria by 1973.  6 villages and towns were established between June 1967 and December 1972 made up of 3 different types of towns and villages.
Nahal Haredi Unit at practice
1. Nahal villages were established by the Israel Defense Forces.  This is a corps that combines military training with farm work.  Its members become farmers when their service ends.
2. Civilian villages, established in areas that most likely will definitely become a part of Israel by peace treaties.  Israel must have secure borders.  However, the Israeli government has said in the past that everything is negotiable.
3. Communities that should be allowed to have Jews.   This was before the Arabs let it be known that their future Palestine will have no Jews living in it.  They are oblivious to the fact that Israel has 1.7 million Arab citizens.  There are places where communities have grown up by their shrines dating back to Biblical days, and the knowledge that Jordan mistreated everything when they held this very land.  No Israelis want to relinquish large parts of the administered areas or would accept any arrangement that banned Jews from living in places which are of religious and historical significance.  This land is ancient Jewish land and was promised to be a part of modern day Israel.  Its a conundrum only for Europe, not for Jews living here.

In fact, Jews were not allowed by the Jordanians to settle in Judea and Samaria, land they had been given by the British which had been earmarked as part of the Jewish Homeland.  The Brits had a change of heart when they promised the land to both the Jews and Abdullah, who became the king of Jordan.

The relations between Arabs and Jews in Israel is that 1.7 million Arabs are living with 6 million Jews in this tiny country.  However, relations in Judea and Samaria are rocky what with what's been going on for the past 67 years.  The Arabs nearby are usually very hostile to these Jews and the Jews there have been hostile towards the Arabs.

Ten years later in 2010, the son of Orit Strook, Zvi, head of the Human Rights Organization of Judea and Samaria, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for the kidnapping and assault of a Palestinian teenager.  The Israeli government is quick to punish any Jews for any acts against Arabs.

In September of 2011, the Israel Defense Forces established a base near Aish Kodesh.  By the 23rd, they were called in to break up a class between Jews and a group of 300 villagers from Qusra who were armed with flashlights and sticks.  The Palestinians started patrolling at night to keep away Esh Kodesh people.

Watch Tower at Aish Kodesh
January 2013 found the Israeli High Court of Justice had ruled that Qusra Palestinians should be allowed to use of of their fields near Esh Kodesh.  Two Border Police enforcing this law were injured in a clash with Esh Kodesh Jews and Qusra Palestinians.

January 3, 2013 had angry Palestinians who found 4 of their cars'tires slashed with the words "Solidarity with Esh Kodesh" and a Star of David spray-painted on a nearby wall.

January 5, 2013 is when about 200 Palestinians cut through the fences of the vineyard and attacked the residents of Esh Kodesh.  12 Jews were injured with one needing to be taken to the hospital.  The vineyards were destroyed, a security car was damaged and the attackers were near homes before the military arrived. This was an ongoing fight over land ownership.

January 7, 2014.  Another Palestinian village, Madama, Nablus, found their cars burnt and price tag graffiti of Esh Kodesh, revenge, and a Star of David, were sprayed.

January 8, 2014 in a Palestinian garden center next to Kfar Qasssem had 30 fruit trees cut down.  The site was blazed with "Regards Eish Kodesh."  "Pinchasi Brown, a resident of Aish Kodesh in the Benyamin region of Samaria maintained his innocence in an exclusive interview with Arutz Sheva news on Wednesday evening.   Brown was one of the Aish Kodesh residents who were attacked while hiking. He denied that he was a "price tag" graffiti vandal or that he or any of his family members intentionally traveled to the nearby Arab community of Qusra. "

There are 2 sides in this equation of Arab and Jew not getting along that each side thinks the other should not be there.  "So how do the Settlers and Hilltop youth  respond to this painful reality of  draconian orders of the Civil Administration?  They go on a hike.  They are trusting and naive,  They believe that Hashem (G-d) (and hopefully the IDF) will protect them from a lynching. They go in a group basically unarmed.  They do not use any weapons to respond to the threat to their lives.  They know from the past that the IDF cannot be counted on to come quickly.  Jewish people living in Samaria, who in the past have tried to act in self defense when faced with an Arab mob,  are afraid to shoot back in self defense. They have been charged with all kinds of crimes that are groundless, based on fabricated lies from the Palestinians  and without evidence and forced to sit in jail."
Ibrahim Muhammad Dawabsha, wife and son,
victims of the firebombing

Revenge written on the wall of the house
Is this an act of putting blame on the Jews?

Interesting motivation, could be either Palestinians or
Jews wanting revenge.

July 31, 2015 was when the  house of Ibrahim Muhammad Dawabsha in Duma caught on fire and the family of 4 died.  It was the 2nd home attacked by masked attackers according to the people there.  The first home was vacant.  Molotov cocktails had been thrown into the bedroom.  The Police and Shin Bet at first said it could have been  caused by arson.  Possible motives were looked into and choices were Israeli extremist attack or a local feud of some sort involving the family. At this point, the Arabs are sure it's the Israelis.

The graffiti below  spelling out LONG LIVE THE MESSIAH KING
is the same phrase as this poster of Rabbi
Shneerson found in a market in Jerusalem, something that
can be easily copied by others. Schools in Israel teach Hebrew and Arabic.
Long Live the Messiah King poorly written on the house wall.
Where does such a phrase come from?  Possibly from Chabad Messianism,
believing  that the late Rabbi
Menachem Mendel Schneerson
was the Messiah.

The phrase is unusual.

This rabbi would never tolerate arson against innocent Palestinians.

Writing such a phrase was a stupid thing to do in my opinion, more

likely done by Arabs than by angry Aish Kodesh teens. The only thing going for it
is that it is written in Hebrew, implicating Jews!
Shneerson was a Jewish leader, yes, but  was not a leader of terrorism!
By December 4, 2015, Israelis were arrested for arson which killed a baby inside.  Funeral of Sa’ad Dawabsha, second victim of the July 31 firebombing attack,  was attended by many.  There were 3 victims. "18-month-old Ali Dawabsheh was burned alive in the fire, while both his parents died from their injuries within weeks.  On January 3, 2016, 21 year old Jewish man from Aish Kodesh, Amiram Ben-Uliel, was indicted for the murder, and along with a Jewish minor, for participation in the planning the murder. In addition, along with two others, they were both charged with one count of membership in a terrorist organization.

There was no physical evidence found of arson. The window was smashed where the firebombs were thrown in.  "The IDF stated that windows had been smashed before the firebombs were lobbed in."  Another version claims that the house itself was doused and set alight. Neighbors stated that both parents emerged from their home enveloped in flames, while two masked men were observed fleeing the scene. Haaretz, however, pointed out that the torched houses were in the middle of the town, far from the outskirts and that it would not have been easy for outside intruders to "make a getaway".  Ha'aretz is a very Leftist paper and would have not hesitated to give a bad report about Jews living in Samaria if they thought it was true.

Palestinian women look at the damage at the Dawabsheh family's home in the town
of Duma, August 4, 2015.  House was firebombed July 31st.

"The Israeli authorities have been under pressure to bring those responsible to justice.  There have been many Palestinian reprisals caused by the news of this arson. One of the witnesses, another relative of the house attack, Dawabsheh,   "is currently testifying before an Israeli court in the trial of two Jewish extremists. "Thursday’s partial lift on the gag-order came one day after the United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov, criticized Israel for the “slow progress” in investigating the arson.  There was conjecture based on testimony of the Arabs in the village and conflicting physical evidence that the arson was part of a feud between two families.

The police came to the conclusion that Jewish townspeople in Samaria had not been the criminals in this fire.  "The police and Shin Bet security service announced Sunday, "the evidence that was found at the scene of the crime does not have the characteristics of a targeted arson by Jewish perpetrators.".  Police say findings appear to rule out deliberate arson by Jews.   Home of Ibrahim Dawabsheh reportedly targeted, human rights group said, months after he witnessed his relatives being killed in a firebomb attack.

I personally believe it was all a set up, a frame up of blaming Jews.  I hope that young Jews who have taken part in any sort of unsolicited reprisals realize that what they do affects all of Israelis as well as other Jews and is only fodder for the Palestinians to show that Israelis are unworthy of their own land.  They must let the IDF do their job according to the Torah and the law of Israel.  They are not.   We know Palestinians have done terrible things like the terror attack at Itamar against the Fogal family, but things must be handled legally.  We cannot do the same to the Arabs.

As for the 40 Jewish families of Aish Kodesh, they say "“There is a phenomenal discrepancy between the reality of life here and what the media wants you to see,” says Hela Manne, a twenty something mother of two who has lived in Aish Kodesh for four years. “It’s not that the media lies, exactly. It’s more that the press chooses to paint a shallow, one-sided picture of the Jews in Judea and Samaria by focusing on violence, when in reality the attacks are committed by no more than a few dozen young people who have nothing to do with our communities.”  "All segments of the religious Zionist world have strongly and consistently denounced price tag attacks, including last summer’s attacks in Duma and against any others such as against the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes at Tabgha, who were Christians.

A Spanish football (soccer) team, Real Madrid,  welcomed the lone survivor of the firebombed family, 5 year old Ahmad Dawabsha, to meet their star player, Christiano  Ronaldo.

The new figure, just 3,182 short of 400,000, is the number of Jews living in Judea and Samaria, not including Jerusalem, as of the end of June 2015.  Demography expert, Professor Yoram Ettinger, a former Israeli ambassador to the United States. says that there are 1.7 million Palestinians living in Judea and Samaria.  That's the same number who are living in Israel proper.  Other groups think that the number is higher.

Another 400,000 Jews are living in  areas that have been annexed by Israel without international recognition—eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights—you get a whopping 800,000 Jews. (July 15, 2015).

No Justice for Terrorist Victims in Judea in 2016

Nadene Goldfoot
Dafna Meir, victim of terrorism

A Jewish mother of 6 children, Dafna Meir, was stabbed to death in her own home in front of 3 of her children in the  village of Otniel in Judea by Palestinian terrorists on January 17th, starting a rash of more stabbings of Jews in Judea-Samaria.  This was murder by any definition.  Her 17 year old, Renana,  was able to give the IDF and Shin Bet security force a description of the killer who was captured 2 days later.  It was 16 year old, Morrad Bader Abdullah,  who after stabbing their mother, had then watched movies. He had been hiding out in the Palestinian Arab town of Beit Amra, about 1.8 miles away  " located twelve kilometers southwest of Hebron.  The apple does not fall far from the tree. "Adais’s father said on Tuesday that he was “proud” of his son for carrying out the attack, the news site Walla quoted him as telling Palestinian media outlets. He also said that the soldiers who arrested his son interrogated all members of the family."

Why in Judea?  Judea is the southern part of ancient Israel which has now been labeled by Jordan as the West Bank.  This is the area that the Palestinians expect to take over and rename as Palestine. Since WWI's end, England had held the mandate for the region for 30 years.  When they left May 14, 1948, Jews living there declared the land as Israel once again which was decided after many meetings with the British and acceptance by the UN.  This acceptance by world order was challenged by the Arabs with a war that turned out to be Israel's War of Independence.  Palestinians have not accepted any peaceful decisions about becoming a state for the past 67 years, and have held their ground to want to drive Israelis into the sea instead.  Even after a gang attack of multiple Arab countries attacking Israel in 1967, with the result that Israel won that battle, have not deterred the Palestinians.  Now they are still trying to scare and drive Israelis out of the land.  Well, Jews were forced out of Israel-Judah in 70 CE with the Roman attack that burned down their Temple.  They're not about to ever leave again.  The land is an integral part of their religious beliefs.  It's even on a  higher level than Washington DC is to the Americans, or Paris is to the French.  The world evidently does not understand this connection.  It's where they were told to live by G-d.

Meir Family before her death
Religious Jews are the ones who have been moving into Judea and Samaria since 1967, their ancient land that was not available to them before.  As if by the will of G-d, Israel won over an amazing attack on them that no gambler would have bet on.  Land that was theirs originally had been decided to be a part of Israel by the British, only to be given away by them to Abdullah, a royal prince without a nation to rule from Saudi Arabia, even though promised to be a part of the Jewish Homeland.  Then to have that Arab country make the false move of joining his compadres in attacking their good neighbor and losing this extra land was indeed a miracle in itself.  No one thought that the  Arabs still using the name of Palestinians, for Jews were also Palestinians before May 14, 1948, would want to settle down and maintain their own state.  They were an assortment of people who  had wandered in from surrounding Arab and non-Arab countries seeking work from Jews in the late 1800s.  To the Arab countries surrounding Israel, Jews were an anathama to them, Jews among Arabs, and this they could not tolerate!  The Palestinian Arabs were fodder for a fight, used as if pawns in a chess game to chase out the Jews.

Here we have Otniel, a village of 810 people of 130 families that is made up of very religious Jews, Orthodox who follow the rules of Judaism and know their ancient history.  They are thrilled to be living on land their forefathers had tread; lived and died on.  Their religion is coming to life for them by being here.  They are not people who were just suffering from religious persecution, but people who respect the land even more than others.  The problem lies in the rest of the world.  They do not see that Israelis should live in Judea and Samaria but must be saved for the Palestinians to make their own state-minus any Jews!!! They call Otniel an illegal settlement, not even giving it the right to be called a village or town.

Even the USA, who is made up of many religions and people, thinks that a Palestine must be only Muslims.  After all, the fact that there are already 48 Muslim majority states in the world is not enough.  There must be the 49th for these belligerent people!  Nothing like bringing democracy to the area;  Israel is made up of 6 million Jews and 1.7 million Arabs, a smattering of Christians and others.  Even Bahia is in Israel.  Now, you go to Saudi Arabia and you will find only Muslims.  No Jews are allowed in Muslim countries.

Otniel was established in 1983.  It lies in the southern Judaean Mountains, south of the famous city of Hebron, which itself is just 18 miles south of Jerusalem.  Everything is so close to each other in Israel.  It's a tiny state of 8,000 square miles.  It was in Hebron that Abraham bought from the Hebronites a plot of land, the Cave of Machpelah in Hebron, in which to bury Sarah, his wife and niece who had just died.  Joshua had assigned the city to Caleb, and it became a levitical city and a city of refuge.  King David reigned here first, before moving his capital to Jerusalem.  It's hard to study our Jewish history, read about Hebron and all that happened here and then know that the land is all belonging to Palestine and Jews are not allowed there.  This cannot happen.

In Otniel is a yeshiva, a religious school usually attended by future rabbis or others who will be experts in their history.  It is a hesder yeshiva headed by 2 rabbis which has an overseas program that attracts Jewish students from Australia and the USA.  The yeshiva itself was under attack in December 2002 when 4 students were killed and 10 wounded in a terrorist attack.  Then in November 21011, Rabbi Dan Martzbach was killed and 2 women wounded when an IDF patrol on alert for suspected terrorists fired on their car as they drove to the Cave of the Patriarchs to pray in the morning.

Shlomit Krigman, terrorist victim
This attack could have spurred on others.  8 days later on January 25th, Shlomit Krigman,23 years old ,  another woman but living in the older town of Beit Horon, was also stabbed to death by 2 Palestinian assailants.  Beit Horon is a town north of Otniel and much larger with a population in 2014 of 1,218.  It's also in Judea.    Started in December of 1977, it lies along the Route 443 between Modi[in and Jerusalem, which is the biblical pass of Beit Horon found in Joshua 10:10.  The population is a mix of secular and Orthodox Jews.  They have a religious elementary school that serves local children as well as those from surrounding villages.  There are also 3 nurseries and a kindergarten, 2 synagogues, a kollel, a mikvah for both women and men, and even a library. "Another woman, 58, was moderately injured in the attack, which took place outside a small market in Beit Horon.  Both attackers, one from nearby Beit Ur al-Tahta, and one from the Ramallah area, were shot and killed by a security guard.  .

Town of Beit Horon, Judea
Krigman, who had previously served as a group leader for the Bnai Akiva Youth Group in Beit Horon, was spending time with her grandparents in the town when she was attacked, according to a message from the community sent out Tuesday morning.  She died later in Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
On January 31st, urther north near Beit El in the Judea and Samaria district,  a Palestinian police officer went terrorist and shot and wounded 3 IDF soldiers at the Focus (checkpoint) leading to Ramallah.  The shooter was also "the driver of the Ramallah district attorney general as well."  He was shot and killed at the scene.  Beit El "Beit El is an Israeli town and local council is located in the Binyamin Region of Judea-Samaria.

Beit El
The Orthodox Jewish town is located in the hills north of Jerusalem, east of the Palestinian city of al-Bireh, adjacent to Ramallah. Beit El's  current population is 6,500 people.  It has grown from 2014 when there were 5,991.  This is where " Jacob slept and dreamt of the angels coming up and down a ladder (Genesis 28:19).
"In 1970, private Palestinian land of al-Bireh and Dura al-Qar was seized by military order for a military outpost and later on consigned to settlers for the purpose of civilian settlement." Remember, Israel had won the 1967 war and therefore got back land promised to them in the first place.  This was land needed for protection.
"In 1977, Beit El was established on the "temporarily" requisitioned land. Seventeen families settled nearby the Israel Defense Forces base. Subsequently the community divided into two settlements. Beit El Aleph (Beit El A) was a residential religious community in the southern part of Beit El, populated by residents who worked in the free professions outside the yishuv. Beit El Bet (Beit El B) was settled on the northern hill around the yeshiva center, founded by Ya'akov Katz and Zalman Baruch Melamed,  partly by trespassing on private land and partly on land purchased by the Himnuta company (a subsidiary of JNF-KKL). It includes public buildings and civilian permanent homes and caravans." That was 37 years ago.
Israel disputes the illegal settlement charge on Jews in the (West Bank). " The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this. The International Court of Justice advisory ruling (2004) concluded that events that came after the 1967 occupation of the West Bank by Israel, including the Jerusalem Law, Israel's peace treaty with Jordan and the Oslo Accords, did not change the status of the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) as occupied territory with Israel as the occupying power." The International Court of Justice is a part of the UN.  The 15 members currently are:

    • Anti-Israel Protesters Crash Jerusalem Mayor Barkat's Talk in San Francisco
Dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters on Wednesday barged into a public lecture by Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat at San Francisco State University, shouting slogans and attempting to prevent him from speaking. "Anyone who thinks that calls for violence and incitement will be able to silence us or divert us from our position is mistaken," Barkat said. "We will continue to build, develop and strengthen the State of Israel and within it a united Jerusalem, and we will continue to voice our opinions and our legitimacy when we are invited to do so, even in places where they try to stop us."  (Jerusalem Post)
