Hillary Clinton's Position on Israel

Hillary has said she's like a daughter to her.  Huma's parents have
ties with the Muslim Brotherhood of which were in favor with Obama
on his trip to Egypt after taking office.



  Hillary Diane Clinton nee Rodham,  born October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, where Obama lived after being in Hawaii,  was our Secretary of State who is now running for President.  She was the former First Lady of the USA when her husband, William "Bill" Jefferson Clinton, was President and lived in the White House from 1993 to 2001, when in his 2nd term, her husband was found to have disgraced himself with the Lewinsky Scandal.   Hillary, herself a lawyer,  at the time was an injured party in the affair.  Now they have a good marriage.  After this period, "from
 2001 to 2009, she served as a United States Senator from New York."    New York has the largest Jewish population, and she learned to tread carefully with Jewish or Israeli comments  in order garnish votes for Senator.

Regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict, Clinton has stated that she is "an emphatic, unwavering supporter of Israel's safety and security.



On November 13, 2005, Clinton said that she supports the creation of the West Bank barrier, stating: "This is not against the Palestinian people. This is against the terrorists. The Palestinian people have to help to prevent terrorism. They have to change the attitudes about terrorism." She has also requested that Palestinian leaders "change all textbooks in all grades" from the current ones, which are "hate-filled, violent and radical." This was excellent!  I've been saying this over and over.  No other presidential hopeful has.  


"On July 18, 2006, Clinton spoke at a pro-Israel rally in New York in front of the United Nations. She supported Israel's efforts in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict: "We are here to show solidarity and support for Israel. We will stand with Israel, because Israel is standing for American values as well as Israeli ones."  Excellent!  


As a senator and throughout her career, Clinton had supported a law that requires identifying Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.  In September 2011, as Secretary of State, she filed a brief with the US Supreme Court opposing "any American action, even symbolically, toward recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel" because of the influence it might have on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.  Of course, this goes against Israel's needs and wishes.  She opposed Jerusalem being recognized as Israel's capital!  This went against what she had felt and said as a senator!  Again, what a politician says and what they do differ too often.  












During an interview while the 2014 Israel–Gaza conflict was ongoing, Clinton said that Hamas had intentionally provoked Israel by firing rockets into that country. In regard to whether Israel's response against Hamas had been proportionate, she said, "I'm not a military planner, but Hamas puts its missiles – its rockets – in civilian areas. Part of it is that Gaza's pretty small and it's very densely populated. They put their command and control of Hamas military leaders in those civilian areas. Israel, I know, has sent warnings and tried to get people to move, but in any kind of conflict there are going to be civilian casualties, and we need to try to get to a cease-fire as soon as possible."




All this, I must admit, is a surprise to me in that Hillary has stood up for Israel.  Has she been butting horns with Obama?  These facts don't seem to be matters like Obama's feelings about  Israel. He was demanding that Israel go back to the 67 lines that weren't even boundary lines which was an impossible death wish for Israel.  
                   
Having  been First Lady, she feels she has the experience to be President. 
 She graduated from Wellesley College in 1969.  Wellesley has been very anti-Semitic and even fired the staff of Hillel, a Jewish group on campus recently.  It was started in 1875 as a religious college " to 
educate young women “for the glory of God and the service of the Lord Jesus Christ.”  It designed its admission policy to cultivate and perpetuate a white Anglo-Saxon Protestant elite.
Then she graduated Yale Law School which she attended from 1969 to 1973.  Hillary  ran unsuccessfuly for President in 2008 against Obama.  Because of this, perhaps, he appointed her Secretary of State.  At the time, she did very badly in her campaign planning, as Mark Halperin showed in his book about the 2008 campaigns, Game Change.  
                                                                     


Former Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has supported the US invasion of Iraq which turns out to have been a violation of the UN Charter.  She has shown hostility toward the International Criminal Court.  She supported international recognition of Morocco's illegal annexation of occupied Western Sahara and has attacked the UN of many of its key agencies.  In my view, these were all pretty good points.  I've been against the UN for many years because of how they have treated Israel.  I cheered when we went into Iraq after 9/11 which I'm sure many Americans did.

Hillary has become known as one of the most right-wing Democrats when discussing the Israel-Palestine issues perhaps to Democrats, but not to people who support Israel.  She seems to be a reflection of Obama's biases against Israel.  We have been most disappointed with Obama's decisions,  that she has concurred with.   During one of Clinton's many visits to Qatar, Hillary befriended  the head of Qatar who houses an Egyptian religious leader,  Qaradawi.  This religious leader teaches Muslims all over the world through his TV program to kill Jews.  This has been most distressing to me.  Doesn't she realize what they back?  

An ex-US ambassador to Israel, Thomas Pickering,  asked her in 2011 to support Palestinian protests  which was found in an email to a senior advisor forwarding his son's anti-Zionist articles of which abound on the internet.  Is this what she is depending on in garnering information about Israel?  It's what I fear happening to many of our leaders in Washington DC.  Without an excellent background in not only current events and past historical facts about the Middle East, our leaders have nothing really to to rely on to make decisions on their own.  
                                                                   

Hillary is known to have broken rules. She has kept a private email address for receiving official government business while Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013.  Now, the State Department has looked at 40,000 pages  and has found this among others. 

By July 2015, it was known more through these emails of her connection to Qatar. "Altogether, on Tuesday the State Department released over 1,900 of Clinton’s emails (3,000 pages). Within this bulk of information, there are 19 emails that have to do with Clinton/ Mozah getting acquainted with each other. Sheikha Mozah was unable to meet with Clinton on suggested dates in June 2009 “due to prior commitments” and proposed to meet “immediately after Ramadan/Eid week of September 27, 2009.”

Another email found from 2010 was a suggestion from Anne-Marie Slaughter, Hillary's former director of policy planning,  that Hillary create a "Pledge for Palestine" campaign to give support to a Palestinian charity to encourage Palestinians to stay at the negotiating table.  Regardless of this, they didn't, but it does show a preference for the Palestinians over Israel.  Now, of course, the situation has become untenable, and Israel has given up trying due to current events happening in Israel that show the Palestinian unwillingness for becoming peaceful neighbors.

I have not found Hillary's statements about her position on Israel like I have with a few other candidates.  Wikipedia did the best job that I have found.  The question is, how much is for show to gain votes and how much is for real in how she really feels about Israel.  Her daughter has married a Jewish man and has children, now.  So has Trump's daughter. These 2 young mothers are friends.   How much will either candidate  view Israel in a more positive light because of this?  Will it shape their thinking at all about Israel?  One can not guess.  How much has Hillary been affected by Obama and Huma, who I have wary feeling that doesn't view Israel in a positive or fair light?  

It all depends on whether you believe in the Democratic party of today or the Republican.  It may just be that Hillary will be running against Trump.  Both say things about how they would handle Israel.  We have to look at their past history even more than what they say.  

Hillary is proving that her nice words pertaining to Israel are just that-words.  She now calls for an OPEN APPROACH TO HAMAS!  She wants to play nice-nice with the worst terrorists against Israel, and its playing into their hands.  Heaven help us if Hillary becomes president.  She'll be worse than Obama, and that's really what we don't need in these dire times.  Read this website I just posted by Daniel Greenfield.

SAL Case Study: A First Generation American Goes to West Point, the Story of Pete Frometa

Pete Frometa is a Hispanic American. Two years before he was born, his parents moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic. They settled in uptown Manhattan, not far from Spanish Harlem.

Pete was raised in a tough neighborhood where many of his peers -- with whom he often spent time playing basketball and fraternizing with after school -- got mixed up with sex, drugs, alcohol, and gangs. Fortunately, Pete had two parents who understood the importance of education, and were willing to make whatever financial sacrifices necessary to send him to a private school in a better area. Pete worked hard in school to earn academic success.

When Pete was in high school, his parents moved back to the Dominican Republic. During his time at private school, Pete became involved in choir where he had become acquainted with an upper-middle class couple living in Queens, New York. When they heard his parents were returning to their homeland, they offered to take Pete into their home so he could complete high school in the United States. Desiring the best possible future for their son, Pete’s parents acquiesced to the offer made by the generous couple.

Pete’s hard work garnered him a Congressional recommendation to attend the United States Military Academy. After graduating from West Point, he received an officer’s commission in the United States Army. He was assigned to the Third Infantry Division and deployed twice to Baghdad, Iraq before resigning his commission to work in the private sector. He is now employed by a Fortune 100 Company and currently makes a six-figure salary. He has since gotten married and has five children. He and his family have also been stationed abroad in Canada with his company.

Impressed and amazed at Pete's remarkable journey, I was curious about how Pete managed to rise above the challenges he faced in his community. Below are some specific answers to questions I asked in interviewing Pete about his Self-Action Leadership journey.

Question: Specifically, what did you think about, say, and do as self-leader growing up to accomplish the goals you set out for yourself?

Answer: Growing up in uptown Manhattan, I grew up around people who didn’t make anything of their lives and I didn’t want to end up like them. For instance, I noticed a lot of people struggling or committing crimes just to get by. I knew that a good education and working hard at school would be something I could do right then to make something of myself and earn a better future.


Question: What do you see as being the most important single variable (or variables) that contributed to successes you have achieved in your education, profession, or life.

Answer: The most important variables were dedication, discipline, and the drive to succeed. Initially it started off as a desire to please my parents and teachers, but later in life, that dedication had an entirely new purpose. I learned early on that hard work and dedication equaled success. This pertained to getting better grades, reaching goals, and receiving awards of recognition.


Question: What do you think is the most important thing that an individual can do to compensate for existing structural inequalities in their communities/lives?

Answer: I think the most important thing that an individual can do is to not accept the way things are and to always challenge the system. If you don’t try to challenge the existing structural inequalities, how will you know how far you can get, or what success you can gain without wholeheartedly trying? Otherwise it is not the system defeating you, but instead it is you defeating yourself.


Question: What do you think is the most important thing that “powers-that-be” (politicians, etc.) can do to erode current inequities existing in societal structures?

Answer: The ‘powers-that-be’ need to always invest in our educational system. Education breaks down societal and economic barriers and opens doors of opportunity.
