BDS Founder and Lobbyist for BDS, Omar Barghouti

Nadene Goldfoot

This nice-looking 52 year old Omar Barghouti, born in 1964 in Qatar, is a co- founder and lobbyist for BDS against Israel.  His comment on this is, "Definitely, most definitely, we oppose a Jewish state in any part of "Palestine."

BDS is a calculated and cynical strategy based on lies about Israel.  It's just another missile they are dropping on the whole 8,000 square miles which is only 20% of the original accepted size of the Jewish Homeland by the League of Nations and the UN by all the members.  As you see, Barghouti doesn't even recognized Israel.  He still calls the land the Roman name of Palestine. and is opposed to its existence.

Israeli girl enjoying Tel Aviv's beach. Barghouti is even against exporting
Israeli dance groups for culture.  No one can work for Israel and
no one can enjoy anything from Israel.  That's BDS.

Tel Aviv-Warmer than Seaside, Oregon for sure.  Friday, June 3rd is to be 90 Degrees, 72
for a low.  Perfect for a dip in the Mediterranean Sea.  Shabbat will go up to 94
and 74 for a low.  This is in F.  Humidity is 60%.
Why would this Qatarian-born engineer want to follow the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas's charter of not accepting the only Jewish state in the world from being whence it came from?  He grew up in Egypt and when an adult, moved to Jaffa, which could have been in 1985, when I returned to the USA from Israel.

Jaffa is joined with Tel Aviv.  It had been a Jewish port at the time of Jerusalem's take-over by the Romans in 70 CE.  Arab riots forced Jews to move to Tel Aviv, founded as a suburb of Jaffa.  In 1946 the population of Jaffa was 101,000 of which 30% were Jews.  The Arab sections of Jaffa capitulated on May 14, 1948 when Israel announced its birth, and almost all the Arabs then left, their places being taken by new immigrants.  Finally, Jaffa was joined with Tel Aviv into one city called Tel Aviv-Jaffa.  The port was closed in 1965.  One quarter has become an artists' colony, similar to the one in Safed.

Caterpillar tractor Co outlawed in BDS in Israel.
He has the chutzpa to be studying at Tel Aviv University.  He has a master's degree in philosophy (ethics) from the university already, and is working on a PhD.  He had already received his master's in electrical engineering from Columbia University in New York,  USA.   It is notable that though there has been a petition with over 184,000 signatures to be expelled for his BDS goal, the university has refused.    His comment to the Associated Press was that "Palestinians cannot possibly observe the same boycott guidelines as asked of internationals, and that indigenous population is entitled to all services they can get from the system."

Evidently Barghouti touts that his parents were Palestinians, which is a lie.  His parents live in Jordan.  His parents were shocked when he left the United States where he lived as an adult and took his wife to live in Ramallah in 1993. It's possible his grandparents were some of the Arabs from surrounding states that entered "Palestine"  in the 1880's, coming because Russian and Romanian Jews had returned escaping the Pogroms of Russia and deciding that after 2,000 years, it was time to return to their homeland.  They had joined Jews whose ancestors had  never left the land, Sabras, and were building Tel Aviv, and the Arabs needed work, so came and worked for them.  Whereas the Bible is the history of Jews living in the Jewish homeland of Israel, showing the world that they were there, and following history has recorded the Roman occupation that caused the destruction of the Temple and of Jerusalem, the Palestinians have no such record of ever having a state of Palestine.  Palestine was the name the Romans gave to Israel in 135 and they had beaten the Jewish General,  Bar Bakhba after a 3 year war over Jerusalem.  They were so angry that they named the land after the ancient  Jewish enemies, the Phillistines.

1920's map of the Jewish Homeland out of Palestine.  Israel was to be 120,466 sq km which is
46,512.1826 miles.  What Jews got is an  Israel of  8,000 sq. miles, 20% of the promised land.
Ruled by a slew of different emperors, the land finally had been under the Ottoman Empire for 400 years, and the Turks lost it to the Allies by siding with the Germans in WWI.  In 1917 it was under British mandate, and it had been decided to be land of the Jewish Homeland once again.

He opposes the 2 state solution and calls Israel an apartheid state, saying, "from now on, it will be acceptable to compare Israel's apartheid system to its South African predecessor.   As a consequence, proposing practical measures to punish Israeli institutions for their role in the racist and colonial policies of their state will no longer be considered beyond the pale."   He is really stubborn, as it is proven over and over that there is no comparison between the Palestinians and the Blacks of South Africa.  Israel has been the opposite of being apartheid.  He nevertheless, holds to his lie.

Samir El-Youssef, born in 1965,  thinks that Barghouti's "true peace based on justice" is that Israel must be punished, brought down to its knees, before a Palestinian is allowed to greet an Israeli in the street.  Samir El-Youssef is a Palestinian-British writer and critic, who was born in Rashidieh, a Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon, where he lived until he was ten, before moving to Sidon, Lebanon. "  Ending the Israeli "occupation" in the "West Bank" (Judea and Samaria) will not end the BDS movement actions because the majority of Palestinians are refugees who live in exile and have a right to return to live in Israel. or Palestine, as they would rename it" he said.

Barghouti has written a book which Joel Fishman of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs  read for a review and discovered that he felt that Palestinians had inalienable right to the land, while those rights of the Jews had been acquired, no matter that Jews had received international recognition.  According to Barghouti, Palestinians have more equal rights than Jews.  Historically, Barghouti is way off, as this is not true at all.  Needless to say, there never has been a state of Palestine.  The Palestinians were people living on the land after 135 CE, both Arab and Jew; people who had been under the Ottoman Empire, and Jews had never left the land.  There as always been Jews living on the land.

How is it that so many universities full of college-aged students who should be learning to do research for papers, etc, and countries  go along with this BDS act which is completely anti-Semitic?  It's not based on any historic truth.  Even the New York Daily News in February 2013 responded to Barghouti's published opinion piece supporting his own Boycott, divestment and Sanctions movement, came out with an editorial saying that Barghouti was a skilled propagandist and that he piled falsehood upon falsehood to present Israel as relentlessly oppressing Palestinians in violation of human decency and held Israel completely responsible for the ills afflicting them.  The newspaper told that what Barghouti wanted was a secular democratic state built on an influx of ARABS who come to dominate the population and vote on an end to Israel as a Jewish nation.
Roberta P. Seid, PhD. Dr. Roberta P. Seid, an historian, is Education & Research Director of StandWithUs and has taught a course on Israel at the University of California, Irvine.

Roberta Seid described his speech at UCLA as bringing hate and was an anti-Israel show.. A rabbi, perhaps not a member of J Street, , stormed out declaring, "This is anti-Semitic!"  The rabbi had wanted to challenge Barghouti's statement  about Jewish communities and was turned down.  Roberta noted that Barghouti also denied a right to self-determination of the Jewish people.  He said that Jews were not a people and denied that they had collective rights.
What Palestinian Arabs have been teaching in their schools.

Barghouti stated: that" BDS is a non-violent human rights movement that seeks freedom, justice and equality for the Palestinian people, based on international law and universal principles of human rights.  As such, BDS has consistently and categorically rejected all forms of discrimination and racism, including anti-Semitism as well as dozens of racist laws in Israel."

The destruction of the BDS movement is actually harming the Palestinians that they say they are helping.  On February 29, SodaStream, an Israeli company, had to shut down their factor in Judah and let go its last 75 Palestinian workers.  The BDS had a ferocious campaign against SodaStream and its spokeswoman, Scarlett Johansson.  The company, in Ramallah,  had 1,300 workers, 500 of which were Arabs  from Judea.   They had been treated well by the fair-minded Israeli firm and now are out of work.  It's isn't like there are other places to work, there.  SodaStream moved to the Negev Desert  area.

Ramallah was the city SodaStream was located in, which is 10 km (6 miles) north of Jerusalem at an average elevation of 880 meters above sea level.  Think; 6 miles from Jerusalem and this is Judah, the ancient site of Israel.  Many people can walk for 6 miles.  It's 5 minutes by car.  This close, and Jews are suffering from BDS because some Jews chose to live there.  " Ramallah was part of the West Bank territory taken by Arab forces in the first of the Arab-Israeli wars (1948–49) and subsequently annexed by Jordan. That's how it did not come into Israel in 48.  Situated on the crest of the Judaean Hills at an elevation of 2,861 feet (872 metres) above sea level, Ramallah, with its fine summer breezes, has long been a popular resort site.  According to the special census of the West Bank taken by Israel in 1967, Ramallah’s population was 12,134, only slightly more than half Christian, while that of Al-Bīrah, including a large refugee camp, was 13,037. Pop. (2005 est.) Ramallah and Al-Bīrah, 62,800."  It has more than doubled.

Florida is among the first states to reject BDS efforts who  want punitive actions against Israel.  They realize that what is needed is bilateral negotiations between Israel and the PA  This means Abbas has to come to the table, and how many times has he sided and melded himself to Hamas terrorism who are against Israel's existence?  Dozens by now.

If you are one to believe what you are told, no matter what, that the sky is orange and not blue and you believe this, you are one prone to believe that BDS is okay.  Why is it that only a few people have realized that the BDS movement is harmful?  Why aren't  our students thinking and analyzing facts?  What is it that the universities are teaching?  Mind control?  I've given up thinking that Barghouti is learning anything at the university in Israel.  He must be just thinking about his future vision of Israel; Palestinian take-over and teaching his ideas in class, instead.

Our Congress has a  bill written to combat BDS Act of 2016.  I hope it passes.  Then states can stand up and be against such a weapon.  The decision will be most interesting when it reaches President Obama's desk.  Will he sign?  Our congress is divided and at least half follows in his footsteps.  This is how many of our representatives , senators a way to fight against BDS and its goal of eliminating the one and only Jewish state.  Don't be deceived by it's leader's goals of doing just this.
Any relation?  Marwan Hasib Ibrahim Barghouti, born in 1959,  is a Palestinian political figure convicted and imprisoned for murder by an Israeli court. He is regarded as a leader of the First and Second Intifadas.  Israeli authorities have called Barghouti a terrorist, accusing him of directing numerous attacks, including suicide bombings, against civilian and military targets alike. Barghouti was arrested by Israel Defense Forces in 2002 in Ramallah .  He was born in Kobar, west bank of Jordan- no doubt our ancient  Judah.  He was a member of Fatah.    Wikipedia

Mustafa Barghouti, born 1954,  is a Palestinian doctor and activist in that he was a member of al Mubadara-General Secretary of Palestine National Initiative.  He graduated from Stanford.  He was a member of the PLO as well.  One source has described him as being born in Bait Rima on the West Bank, although Barghouti himself has said that he was born in Jerusalem.  Barghouti's family is from Bani Zeid, a village about 15 miles from Ramallah, neit Birzeit. He grew up in Ramallah and his father was the municipal engineer for the nearby village of Al-Bireh.   Barghouti has said that his family “has always been very political, very active,” noting that under the Mandate, his grandfather and great-uncle “were jailed by the British.” He has said that he “grew up surrounded by internationalist, progressive literature,” and has described his family’s politics as always being “shaped by opposition to social injustice, rather than by nationalism.” His father, he has noted, “used to speak to us of his Jewish comrades in Tiberias or Acre.”

The BDS movement was launched on July 9, 2005 when a broad alliance of more than 170 Palestinian political parties, trade unions, refugee networks, NGOs and grassroots associations published an open boycott call to international civil society organizations and people of conscience. It called to “impose broad boycotts and implement divestment initiatives against Israel similar to those applied to South Africa in the apartheid era,” Barghouti says. “Today, the global BDS movement is led by the largest coalition in Palestinian society, the BDS National Committee (BNC).”

Israel's Legal International Right's Ignored by BDSers

Nadene Goldfoot
After King Solomon died in 920 BCE, Israel divided into Israel and Judah due to political differences.
King Saul ruled first, about 1,000 BC, then David,  followed by son Solomon.  Jordanians started
calling Judea and Samaria, the West Bank-west bank of the Jordan River.
What the BDS movement against Israel is doing is spreading lies about the legal rights that Israel has.  They are also hurting the very Palestinian Arabs that they think they are helping.  They are interferring with their rights to employment.  That's usually what meddlers do-mess up people's lives, not help them because they're poor at getting the facts.

BDS movement wants to stop Caterpiller from selling tractors in Israel.
"The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement (BDS Movement) is a global campaign attempting to increase economic and political pressure on Israel to comply with the stated goals of the movement: the end of Israel's occupation and colonization of Palestinian land and the Golan Heights, full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and respect for the right of return of Palestinian refugees."  Arab Palestinans have had full equality since they became citizens.  They're in the Knesset and every other form of whatever citizens have.  The only difference for them is that they are not expected to enter the army.  Only those that have wanted to, like the Druze, do this.  The Arabs would like to flood the state with more Arab relatives connected to them, or not, but this is the one and only Jewish state.
War of Independence 1947-1949, Jews from the Holocaust, surviving those horrors only
to be met with a war in their new home-and this time they are soldiers.

The balance is not to be altered.  We now have a ratio of 6 million Jews to 1.7 million Arab citizens of Israel.   The "OTHERS" the Palestinians want to come in are descendants of those  who were in the land when Israel became a state on May 14, 1948 fled, told to leave as the Arab armies were coming to take over and it was after that that they could have Jewish homes, treasures, etc.  They had their chance and blew it.  They followed the wrong people, not the Jews who begged them to stay.  Golan Heights is not going back to Arab hands who had it before and rained all the rockets, mortars and missiles from there down onto Israelis.  NO WAY!  Jews also have a right to live where they are in Judea and Samaria.   ABC sections have already been discussed.  Now, how about talking about peace and not continuance of attacking Israelis?  First, stop the attacks so that people are in the mood to talk about their problems and solving them.

The mandate of Palestine covered ALL the land of Palestine.  What you're looking at today
is mostly what has become Jordan.

WWI lasted from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918; 4 years, 3 months, 2 weeks long.  It took place in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Pacific Islands, China and off the coast of South and North America.

The Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria joined the Central Powers against the Allies.  Palestine was a part of the Ottoman Empire.  Turkey lost their Ottoman Empire.  The Arabs are still in denial about it.
The facts are that after WWI  in 1922,  representatives of the Jewish people were in conferences with the Allies.   The League of Nations Mandate for Palestine was given to the British.  The body of the League of Nations  Mandate recognized the Jewish National Rights in the WHOLE of the mandated territory of Palestine.

Recognition was given because the Jews had such a historical connections with Palestine and needed to claim their rightful place where they had been forced out and was to reconstitute their National Home in this land of Palestine again.  The members of the League of Nations did not create the rights of the Jewish People.  What they did was RECOGNIZE A PRE-EXISTING RIGHT.  This was the 2,000 year old quest of the Jewish people to re-establish their homeland.

1949 Armistice Lines
By 1946, Israel's rights were preserved under the United Nations (UN) as well.  This is according to Article 80 of the UN CHARTER.  This established that nothing in the UN Charter should be construed to alter in any manner the rights whatsoever of any states or any  peoples or the terms of EXISTING INTERNATIONAL INSTRUMENTS.

These rights were unaffacted by the UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION  181 of November 1947's Partition Plan, which was a NON-BINDING RECOMMENDATION  that was rejected by the Palestinians and the Arab states.   This is all documented.

JORDAN occupied the West Bank (Judea and Samaria-original Jewish land of the Israelites; king Saul, king David, King Solomon).  They had stolen the land by their illegal invasion in 1948 IN DEFIANCE of the UN SECURITY COUNCIL.  Then they had the temerity to annex the West Bank in 1950.  Remember, Abdullah was a prince from SAUDI ARABIA, not a native Palestinian, nor a Jew.  He was an outsider who had helped the Allies win WWI in the Middle East, same as the Jews did, only he had more men who fought.

Jordan's annexation of the WEST BANK was recognized by Pakistan and Great Britain but excluded the annexation of Jerusalem.  The ANNEXATION by Jordan was rejected by most of the international community, including THE ARAB STATES!

Jordan insisted that the 1949 Armistice Line, the Israeli-Jordanian boundary until 1967, was not a recognized international border but ONLY A LINE SEPARATING ARMIES.  The Armistice Line Agreement specifically states:  NO PROVISION OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL IN ANY WAY PREJUDICE THE RIGHTS, CLAIMS, AND POSITIONS OF EITHER PARTY HERETO IN THE PEACEFUL SETTLEMENT OF THE PALESTINE QUESTIONS, THE PROVISIONS OF THE AGREEMENT BEING DICTATED EXCLUSIVELY BY MILITARY CONSIDERATIONS.  (Article II.2)

Israel-9 miles wide.
NEVER was the word, "Occupation" used legally in other situations.  BUT ONLY IN THIS CASE, WITH THE WEST BANK AND GAZA, where no internationally recognized sovereign control previously existed, ISRAEL WAS LABELED WITH THE STIGMA AS AN "OCCUPIER."   There have been many other cases where international borders were crossed in armed conflicts and sovereign territory was seized; even in clear-cut cases of aggression.

EGYPT HAD BEEN OCCUPYING THE GAZA STRIP.  They also had invaded the land illegally in 1948, the time of Israel's announcement of their state which was the time of their fight, The War of Independence that was from November 29, 1947 to 1949 when the parties signed the Armistice Agreements.  This was a war started by the Arabs because they would not accept the UN partition resolution.  They came in from Syria, Lebanon and Egypt.   to reinforce local Arabs who were attacking Jews.

This was also a time that Jews held in Holocaust camps  were coming out of the Holocaust and needed a home.  They didn't want to return to Poland or Ukraine, places the native population had been helpers of the Nazis to kill them off.  They needed Israel and had been kept from there before even in 1940-41.Those that managed to arrive illegally themselves were thrust into fighting for their new country's life!

Where the prior holder of territory had seized that territory unlawfully, the state which subsequently takes that territory in the lawful exercise of SELF DEFENSE has, against that prior holder, better title.  So said Stephen Schwebel, former State Dept. Legal Advisor in 1970.  International jurists generally do draw a DISTINCTION between situations of "AGGRESSIVE CONQUEST"  after a war of "SELF DEFENSE".
The West Bank was to be part of the new Israel.  That was a deal.  It was stolen during an aggressive conquest.  Israel was fighting in self-defense.  Stephen Schwebel later headed the International Court of Justice in the Hague.
2007; Judea/Samaria (West Bank)- Jewish towns.

Israel only entered the West Bank AFTER repeated Jordanian artillery fire and ground movements across the previous armistice lines.  Jordan attacked at 10:00am.  Israel warned them to stop through contacts at the UN at 11:00am.  Jordan continued hitting Israel.  Israel's military action began at 12:45pm.  By then, Iraqi forces crossed Jordanian territory and were poised to enter the West Bank.  The temporary armistice boundaries of 1949 lost all validity the moment Jordanian forces revoked the armistice and attacked.     Israel took control of the West Bank as a result of a DEFENSIVE WAR.

June 1967 IDF Finally were able to visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem after the battle was over
and Israel had won.

Palestinians continue the fight by using the term, OCCUPATION, REPEATEDLY.  In this way they manage to reverse the causality of the conflict, and those judging it, the media, the governments, are too weak in their judgments to see the differences.  The people who use this term, Occupation or occupiers, are obfuscating this history.  The territorial disputes giving reasons to use BDS against Israel as one form of a weapon is not the result of a war imposed on Israel by a coalition of Arab states in 1967, rather more by the lies by the Palestinians.
Gaza, Israel pulled out for the sake of Peace-Sharon was Prime Minister.
It took place from August 15 to September 12, 2005.  Instead,
they've been shelled by the Arabs from there.

The results of the fighting is that Israel was only expected to withdraw FROM THE TERRITORIES to secure and recognized boundaries.   Israel was not expected to withdraw from THE territories or ALL the territories captured in the Six Day War of 1967.  You may say this is being picky-but it's a part of law. Lawyers have to recognize these important but teeny words and what they mean legally. (UN Security Council Resolution 242) The UN Security Council recognized that Israel was ENTITLED TO PART OF THESE  TERRITORIES FOR NEW DEFENSIBLE BORDERS.  242 MEANT THAT iSRAEL WILL NOT WITHDRAW FROM ALL THE TERRITORIES.

With Resolution 338, it became clear that ONLY NEGOTIATIONS WOULD DETERMINE WHICH PART OF THESE TERRITORIES WOULD BECOME ISRAELI TERRITORIES AND TERRITORIES TO BE KEPT BY ISRAEL'S ARAB COUNTERPART.
According the the UN's charter Article 80, nothing should be construed to alter in any manner the rights.
Israel has legal rights with respect to the West Bank and Gaza Strip that appear to be ignored by international observers who keep saying that Israel is an OCCUPIER.  Israel is not a foreign OCCUPIER with no territorial rights.  Israel has strong historical rights to the land that were already RECOGNIZED by the main bodies serving as the source of international legitimacy in the previous century.

Judea and Samaria are divided by further talks into areas A, B, and C.  One is for the Palestinians, one for the Jews and one they both are in.  The Palestinians build illegally in the wrong places,  yet the international community stays blind to what they do illegally.

BDS'ers Crusading against Israelis

We already know that Israel  pulled out of Gaza completely in the name of a promised peace which has given them nothing but a constant rain, a storm of rockets, mortars and missiles.  This is the opposite of a promised peace.  This is what Israel has experienced by listening to the Left.  Now they must protect themselves from a people who do not care at all to have their own state and live in peace with their neighbor, Israel.  BDSers are simply Old Crusaders  wanting to draw Jewish blood.

Portland, Oregon Defending Their BDS Decision Against Israel

Boycotting, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) means to keep American businesses
out of Israel, depriving both of making a living.  It's use is to try to force Israel
into complying with people backing it, which now include
the mainstream Protestant churches in the USA. Caterpillar Tractor Company  is one of the
businesses they are trying to harm.
Portland, Oregon's City Hall received this decision to harm Israel with BDS.
Nadene Goldfoot
Israel puts terrorists in prison just like the USA would,
but also treats them humanely; not like Turkey would.   They even receive salaries from
their Palestinian leaders for being there, something that wouldn't happen in the USA.  So they're being paid to terrorize civilians that BDS is designed to harm.
(Turkey threw a female relative and friend of mine, author Gene Hirshhorn LePere,  who was a tourist in Turkey , into the female prison where she might have had to stay for life.)

Out here in the Wild West of Oregon, our largest city and my home town, Portland,  has voted for BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) against Israel right now at this point in time and why?  What is going on to create this decision?  I contend that it's a build-up of anti-Semitism that always lies near the surface of people's minds, and sometimes even permeates  into our own Jewish people who suddenly turn against their own.  It's different from honest criticism.  Anti-Semitism is showing hostility or prejudice against Jews.  Israel is a Jewish country of 6 million Jews and 1.7 million Muslims and some Christians, etc.  Even Alice is showing prejudice and not any sort of helpful criticism.  She doesn't live there.  She's judging from afar or heresay.  Israel is the ONLY Jewish majority country in the world whereas there are at least 48 Muslim majority countries in the world--and that is without a Palestine yet.

I watched a TV program last night about the Irish and a leader of the IRA said, "Turn against my own people?  Never.  I'd rather die first."  Their group had just managed to kill quite a few people.   Yet we have people who go along with the masses and do not trust their own.  They're few and far between, yet they exist, and Alice Rothchild is one of them. What upsets me is that she attacks without knowing any of the circumstance.  She's joined the followers of Noam Chomsky. She's a medical doctor and like Chomsky, uses her background, which has nothing to do with the history and current events of the Middle East, to sway the public.    Her big guns have been brought into our town to defend our City Hall's decision for BDS.

Arafat, originally leader of Fatah terrorists.  His leadership molded the minds of the Palestinians.

Fatah terrorists from Judea and Samaria, formerly following Arafat
who was replaced by Abbas.  They're hooked up with Hamas of Gaza.

The Oregonian newspaper published what is evidently a wonderful opinion piece of hers that took up 3/4 of a whole page including a huge picture which was all for BDS.  It has been followed up with a  running stream of comments for BDS, and very few against it.  If against it, the sentiment is that stupid accusation of anti-Semitism and oh, they feel wrongly criticized if they say anything against Israel and this is another point against us.  .

Hamas terrorist, who branched off of Fatah,  who shoot missiles, mortars and rockets into southern Israel from Gaza,
and make attacks on Israel's civilian population
For some time now, I as a Jew have felt the atmosphere here in the USA is leaning towards Germany's in the 1930s, getting worse and worse each year towards the same feelings that grew with Nazi power in the late 30s.  This is just the icing on the cake.  Jews have stepped out of their 2nd class Dhimmi status of the Middle East and of many other cities in Europe and are being put down by those worried about it.
Demonstrations in Europe Against Israel
There's a fever of attacks by those of the Muslim persuasion in Europe, but BDS must be used against the Jews of Israel,  who for the first time in over 2,000 years,  live in their own state and are being noticed.  Attacks in the UN are far more against Israel than any other group with the result that masses think they are the bad guys of the world.

The spill-over of population density of Arabs  now in Europe  have been treated  royally.  They have been given "the right to free education, free social services and free health care.  They have the right to voice their opinions in the media and to vote in democratic elections.  They are not disenfranchised.  Yet the Europeans get back attacks for their kindness and their troubles.  They are experiencing what Israel has been experiencing.

The same thing has happened in Israel.  Israel has offered the very same things to those 1.7 million who are citizens and also to those living in Judea, Samaria, Gaza and East Jerusalem, and find they are the ones affected by the Khartoum Conference of 1967 whose motto is NO, NO AND NO.  Israel has been as frustrated as Europe now is.  Israel as even higher standards of morality than any other country in the world, so it hurts them even more to keep to their standards when being attacked all the time.

With people on the fringe of respecting Israel or Jews, they are just not looking at the situation through  normal glasses but with damaged ones.  They've turned things around in their heads and see a teeny country of Israel,   who has been successful in defending herself against a horde of Arabs with medieval standards,  as the bad guy even though they may turn against them as well.

This week, what has happened in Israel to cause Alice's opinion piece to be published?  The USA's Obama does not consider the Golan Heights as a part of Israel and has published this.  Netanyahu has said it is.  Israel has sovereignty in this high  area which before 1967 rained rockets, mortars and missiles down on Israel.  It is populated now by the Druse, an Arab group who are peaceful and a part of Israel.  It connects to the famous historic city of Safed (Tzfat)  where I lived for over 4 years.  Please read "THE SOURCE" by James Mitchener.   When Israel's only defender keeps arguments going publicly against Israel, it brings down the defensive walls Israel has to protect its citizens.  This argument alone can cost lives.

For weeks, attacks have been happening mainly in Jerusalem of Palestinians with knives against civilians there.  This Palestinian "intifada of the knives" is blamed by those outside of Israel on some lack of hope for a better future, anger and frustration.  However, every sort of American type opportunity and help have been offered to them, and their leaders always come up with the 3 NOs (from 1967's Khartoum Conference) , and the results are attacks against Israelis.  The nicer Israelis are, the worse the answer is.  It doesn't help that Hamas is ruled by the more recent and obvious more bloodthirsty terrorists who have control of the old terrorists who were run by Arafat and now Abbas, the PLO.

On April 19th, the Israeli IDF detonated the Hamas terrorist attack tunnel it found 10 days before which lead from the southern Gaza Strip into Israeli territory.

Israel already experienced 80% of the promised Jewish Homeland being stripped away
and given to King Abdullah for the creation of Jordan.  Now the Palestinian Arabs want Jerusalem, too.
After experiencing the Holocaust with the murder of 6 million Jews, Israelis have had to deal with accusations of being in a country the world leaders said YES to while the Arabs have said NO to.
On April 21st, Shin Bet (The Israel Security Agency) said the identity of the Palestinian who detonated a bomb on an Egged bus in Jerusalem earlier in the week was confirmed.  The terrorist was Abdel Hamid Abu Srour, 19, of Beit Jala.  He had died of injuries in the attack which wounded 20 men, women and children; 7 of them seriously.

April 21st and Sin Bet announced that security forces uncovered a Judea-Samarian Arab terror cell that plotted to kidnap a settler in order to gain leverage in negotiations to free Palestinian prisoners.

Update: 5/16/16/2:18pm from Ron Dermer, Israel's ambassador to the USA:  While it's not an economic problem for Israel, BDS is a moral problem. It is an attempt to demonize Israel, to cast it as a pariah state that has no legitimacy and should be destroyed. . .

Is Hillary a True Friend of Israel?

Nadene Goldfoot
Huma Abedin, who works for Hillary Clinton in White House. and Hillary Clinton.
Huma was U.S. Secretary of State Clinton's Deputy Chief of Staff at the State Department
Huma's parents are avid Muslim Brotherhood members.  She's like
a daughter to Hillary. At age 2, Huma's Indian father and Pakistani mother moved to
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where she was raised and lived until returning to the United States for college. On June 13, 2012, five members of Congress alleged that Abedin had "immediate family connections to foreign extremist organizations" which they said were "potentially disqualifying conditions for obtaining a security clearance" and questioned why Abedin had not been "disqualified for a security clearance.  With Obama as president and Hillary as a friend, "the claims in the letter were generally rejected, and were labeled by some as conspiracy theories."
Oh Hillary!  I just finished printing out her 8 page speech to AIPAC that she gave on March 21st and thought, she knows all of Israel's problems.

She's so aware and has been very involved in our dire situations, but she was on the other side!  She had joined Obama's team and did his bidding, which was so different from what she has written as her speech.  She quoted Elie Wiesel at the end of her speech when he was given the Nobel Peace Prize and said, "Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim.  Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented."  Did the Obama administration heed his words in their dealings with Syria?  Didn't  the Obama Administration keep quiet in chiding the Palestinians about attacking Israel, or didn't they instead blame Israel but never the Palestinians?  Yes, they did speak out at the UN against the countries coming down on Israel, but I haven't heard of anything they've done to let Hamas or even Fatah know that they can't keep attacking Israel and still find any favor with the USA.

She admitted right away that "we may not have always agreed on every detail, " and indeed, the details have been quite large, as a matter of fact, like Iran, which she brings up later.  When Netanyahu came to speak to Congress on Tuesday, March 3, 2015,  about  why he was  against President Obama’s plan for a possible nuclear deal with Iran,  who attended?  Almost none of the Democrats. Here are the Senators who gave notice early that they wouldn't attend.  Notice that Bernie Sanders' name is in this list.  All are Democrats plus Bernie, the Independent.
  1. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.)
  2. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)
  3. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.)
  4. Sen. Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii)
  5. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.)
  6. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.)
  7. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.)
  8. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.)
In total, 48 members of the House of Representatives and eight Senators skipped the Israeli leader's speech. Did Hillary?  This subject was a matter of LIFE and DEATH for Israel.  She admits very well that she knows about all of Iran's deadly accomplishments towards this Jewish country.   It takes a lot of chutzpa to think that AIPAC members are going to push all the negativity aside to vote for her after playing ball with the opposing team.

"Independent Senator Bernie Sanders (Vt.) joined 56 Democratic lawmakers in the boycott, which was seen by many as snub to the powerful Jewish-American lobby group, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).  Also not in attendance were President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. The president said he could not be present because of the speech's proximity to the Israeli election, while Biden had a scheduling conflict. That was the election Obama had been interfering with.

She spoke about the huge movement of BDS, boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel used in trying to manipulate Israel to do the movement's bidding.  She says many young people in the audience are on the front lines of the battle to oppose it, and in that she is right.  She agreed that it is maligning, isolating and undermining Israel and the Jewish people.  Does she realize that the most popular Protestant churches are in the front line of leading this international movement?  Did she offer any concrete help in combatting it?  She said she has been sounding the alarm and had written a letter last year to Jewish organizations that we have to unite to fight against it.  They've been trying to do that, Hillary.  It would be nice if you wrote a letter to the churches promoting it.   She  told Jewish college students at the meeting to stay strong and keep speaking out.  She told them not to let anyone silence you, bully you or try to shut down debate.  That's why they are AIPAC members, Hillary.  They already have heard that from the choir.

At times, she seemed to be lecturing to the choir.  Instead, her words should have been aimed at the Palestinians.  Why tell AIPAC members, and these attending this meeting are the very active ones, to not harm others, etc.  She said to AIPAC members, who spend their free time trying to educate others about what is happening to Israel, that "all of us must condemn actions that set back the cause of peace." That's what AIPAC knows is happening to Israelis.  They know about what their enemies are doing.  She said that "terrorism should never  be encouraged or celebrated."  Really!  Why tell AIPAC members this?  This is what her friend, Arafat stood for and encouraged.  This is what Israelis are fighting against!  She said that "children should not be taught to hate in schools as that poisons the future."   Hillary is showing AIPAC that she is aware of what Israel is up against, something that this audience knows about full well, but they would like to know how she sees the USA's part in combating such acts.  Pushing for a 2 state solution when this is going on is madness.  Can she give the Palestinians an incentive for peaceful behavior other than backing them all the time and expecting Israel to give them more and more land?  Hillary; from promises Israel was promised the Promised Land.  That promise only lasted a short while before Great Britain turned around and gave 80% of that land to King Abdullah.  (update)

She spoke of 3 choices that we have, and the 1st one was to take the Israel-USA relationship to the NEXT LEVEL.  Trump has spoken of the art of the deal.  Perhaps she has read his book, for she is offering Israel a 10 year deal of a "defense memorandum of understanding to meet Israel's security needs far into the future." She is not afraid that this will send a clear message to Israel's enemies in that the USA and Israel stand together, united.  If this is really believed by her, then why won't she go for moving the USA embassy to Jerusalem and send the same strong message by doing it?

Getting to that NEXT LEVEL, according to her speech, was to make sure she became president-a president with a deep personal commitment to Israel's future as a secure Democratic Jewish state.  We hear the knocking and warnings of what Trump would be like as a president with dire consequences.  We get the warning, that to have security for Israel, America needs to remain a respected global leader, committed to defending and advancing the international order.  Hillary, like it has been these past 8 years?  Frankly, this is what has been missing!  Even she said a paragraph down that it's not good enough to trust and verify, and that our approach must be to distrust and verify.  Well, with your past shenanigans with your own ambassador's life being taken in a terrorist attack, there has been a lot of distrust.  Couple that with not even following your own USA rules about emails, and the mess that has entailed makes me want a lot of verification because that distrust has built up.  The question is, can we trust you and why?

Qaradawi of Qatar
Like reading about your good relations with Qatar, whose friend in good standing is  Al-Qaradawi of Egypt.  Qaradawi was kicked out of Egypt for being a trouble-maker and he lives in Qatar.  He's a Muslim religious leader who goads his followers to kill Jews.  He would do it himself, but he'd have a hard time choking one of us as he's in a wheelchair.  However, he has said that he would do it.  On February 15, 2010, Hillary Rodham Clinton participated in an official Al-Jazeera town hall interview at the Carnegie Mellon U branch in Qatar's Education City.  Al-Jazeera in Arabic advocates killing Jews on Qaradawi's program.  She said she's been followng the Qatar Foundation.  The Al-Qaradawi Centre for Research in Moderate Thought is a short walk away from Education City.  He happens to be barred from entering the USA and is documented as having called for the destruction of America and for the annihilation of the Jews; another Hitler.  Education City's support of Sheikh Al-Qaradawi means they support what he teaches.  This is all documented by MEMRI-(Sheikh Al-Qaradawi & Qatar's Education City Hosting American University Branches.)  As Secretary of State, didn't you realize that this man is a terrorist leader, as bad as ISIS?

Iron Dome shooting down a missile
That was one promise-a memorandum.  She also said that the USA should provide Israel with the most sophisticated defense technology to deter and stop any threats, like the Arrow 3 and David's Sling, better tunnel detections, technology to prevent armed smuggling, kidnapping and terrorist attacks.  Who does she think will actually come up with these items?  No doubt our creative Israelis will, who continue to share with the USA all they have to protect themselves.  She must have forgotten that Israel has already created the IRON DOME.  It was developed by Haifa-based Rafael SPYDER, a company already known for its anti-aircraft systems.  She said she wanted to tighten the links between Silicon Valley and Israeli tech companies and entrepreneurs.  We already have many Israelis working in Portland in this field.  Israel spent a lot of money providing themselves with 3 of the Iron Domes.  "The $200 million offered by the Obama White House in 2010 helped build a fourth installment."  Because of probably mostly Republican Senators and House members, the USA has been helping Israel in this way, thank goodness.  In March of this year Israel announced the Iron Dome had successfully intercepted 90 percent of incoming Gaza missiles that would have landed in populated Israeli areas.

One of the  first things Hillary will do as President is to invite the Israeli Prime Minister to visit the White House.  Does she figure Netanyahu won't be in this chair by January?  Why didn't she use his name?  He's been there many a time, Hillary, but not with you as Prez.  You can say that the relationship between Obama and Netanyahu is quite strained these days.  Obama was actively involved in the USA setting up an office in Tel Aviv to vote for Netanyahu's opposing party in his last election.  Since when would we ever put up with foreign interference in our political affairs so boldly?  That was crass!

American Evita, published in 2004.

A book by Christopher Anderson called American Evita is about Hillary.
In it, on pages 49-50, Anderson cites  a 1973 incident that happened before Bill and Hillary were married on October 11, 1975.   Bill had driven over to a friend's house during a trip to his home state of Arkansas with Hillary to meet a politically well-connected friend.  They noticed as they came close to  the house that a menorah was on the door.  Bill's friend came to the door and when questioned about it, told Bill that his father was half-Jewish (by DNA-I suppose-since one either is or isn't following Judaism).  It was his father who hammered the menorah to the door to be proud that they were part Jewish.  The son couldn't say no.  However, Hillary wouldn't get out of the car to meet him.  Bill had to apologize and told his friend that she's really tight with the people of the PLO in New York.  They are her friends and she doesn't feel right about the menorah.

This is a case of anti-Semitism by Hillary, but it doesn't add up.  Jews don't have menorahs on their door.  They have a small mezzuzah on the side of the door with the 10 Commandments in the case.  To spot it from a car means they were looking for it, no doubt.  A mezzuzah is small.   Why should they worry about a chatchka from the car of a friend's house?  Who ever heard of a menorah on a door, anyway?  Not even in Israel did I see such a door decoration.  Somebody is meshuganah!

Arafat at UN General Assembly  on November 13, 1974
packing a pistol and called on the world community to decide between
an "olive branch or a freedom fighter's gun."
At a time when elements of the American Left embraced the Palestinian cause and condemned Israel, Hillary was telling friends that she was “sympathetic” to the terrorist organization and admired its flamboyant leader, Yasser Arafat. When Arafat made his famous appearance before the UN General Assembly in November 1974 wearing his revolutionary uniform and his holster on his hip, Bill “was outraged like everybody else,” said a Yale Law School classmate. But not Hillary, who tried to convince Bill that Arafat was a “freedom fighter” trying to free his people from their Israeli “oppressors.”
When a first lady in May 1998, "
Ms Clinton became the first member of any presidential administration ever to call for a Palestinian State.  With Arafat never agreeing to anything, one wonders whose idea it was?

Hillary spoke about Iran and their threats to Israel to wipe them out.  She said that Iranian provocations, like the recent ballistic missile tests, are also unacceptable and should be answered firmly and quickly including more sanctions.  We know that, Hillary, and are not seeing it.  What has Obama done about it?  Are you nudging him properly if you believe this?  His presidency has been a "do nothing" and it will blow over thing.  He seems to not believe in "mixing in."  She says that" if elected, the leaders of Iran will have no doubt that if we see any indication that they are violating their commitment not to seek, develop or acquire nuclear weapons, the USA will act to stop it and that we will do so with force if necessary." We heard this from Obama, but haven't seen it.  It's turned out to be empty promises, just like Iran's promise to obey them.

By addressing AIPAC,  Hillary didn't miss a trick in getting jabs in at Trump.  Israel will not benefit from her offers if he gets in,  was some of the message currently  on her mind and lips.
