Trandsjordan Is Palestine

Nadene Goldfoot
Palestine-1917-1922:  All inhabitants were Palestinians; Jews and Arabs alike.
It was a name given to the land of Israel and Judah (Judah being the southern end of Israel)
by the Romans who were naming the land they took in 70 CE for the Jewish enemy-the Philistines.
They liked to run the noses of their conquered people in it.  It was their way of getting even with
Aluf Bar Kokhba for being the hardest general they had had to fight against.

British held Mandate over Palestine; April 24, 1920 map.
Documented to be the Jewish National Home-in Mandate.
Britain was to help the Jews reach this goal.
Now King Abdullah has had enough Arab Palestinians in Jordan.

The Arabs wanting a state called Palestine actually got it when King Abdullah took 80% of the land away from the Jewish Homeland.  All of what was called Palestine-was named by the Romans after 135 CE after a 3 year war with Aluf Bar Kokhba, a Jewish general who had retaken Jerusalem and held it for 3 years until he was killed in battle with the Romans.

The League of Nations, created at the end of WWI in 1917, became defunct with outbreak of WWII in 1939,  stood by when this severing of land was done by the British in 1922.  The allocated land  became Transjordan.  Jewish settlement there was then barred.  That's why the Jews didn't get to settle there in their ancient homeland which was Judea and Samaria.  It was the Jordanians who called it all-The West Bank.  Yes, the western bank of the Jordan River.  The part they kept was called Jordan. Jordan annexed this West Bank in 1950.

When the United Nations  was created on October 24, 1945,  they replaced The League of Nations. They partitioned the 20% of remaining Palestine to be the Jewish National Home into 2 states.  This is the map of 1922.

Arabs then controlled about 80% of the land of the British Mandate that was meant to become the Jewish National Home.  The Palestinian Jewish State held  about 17.5%.  Gaza, occupied by Egypt, was the remainder.
Now Israel's wee land can be hit by missiles, mortars and rockets,
and must guard diligently for safety.  Gaza finds it very easy to hit
southern Israel.  Notice that Israel got the Desert of the Negev.  What
Jordan created made the situation that much harder for Israel in their
creation of their own state.
Why is it that the Arabs living in Judea, Samaria, Gaza and East Jerusalem need their own state?  There are 48 Muslim majority states in the world.  Most of their Arab connections probably are already in Jordan and are Jordanian subjects.  They had their day with Black September when they tried to take over Jordan and lost.  Why not let Abdullah do the leading?

Palestinian Arabs never were a people like the Hashemite Kingdom once was.  That's who Abdulah's people are; Hashemites.  Palestinian Arabs were from all over the Middle East.  They were people looking for better wages, looking for jobs.  They had heard that Jews were hiring.  They came.  They found a few large landowners that were Arabs already living there.  Some of them sold out and moved to Paris and other exciting places.  These Arabs were never land holders.  They never had a country of their own.  They mostly were nomads.  Now too many of them have become terrorists.  Their tribe is their gang of terrorists.

We have Jewish communities in Judea and  Samaria-our old homeland.  We have taken Jews out of Gaza where the Palestinians who were affiliated with Arafat and his PLO have turned more savage and now follow Hamas, the outgrowth of the PLO only much worse.

My high rise apartment in Safed.  We were lucky to live on the fround floor.
We had to have bars on all our windows.  Can you imagine having bars on your living room windows?
Isn't this what can happen if Judea and Samaria have to exile all the Jews from there as the Arabs follow the Nazi rule of having no Jews in their midst?  That's what they plan for their state: to be Judenrein.  The UN knows this.  The horror is that being that close-they can also rain down rockets, mortars and missiles easily from there.  Even the Jews removed from  Gaza have a hard time finding a home to live in in Israel, as it's getting very crowded.  People live in high rise apartments.  The creation of a Palestine will mean the same thing to Jews of Judea and Samaria.

Pope Francis Ignoring Jews on White House Visit

Nadene Goldfoot
The Pope from Rome is coming to meet and speak with President Obama today.  Tonight just happens to be Erev Yom Kippur, meaning the night that the Jewish holiest day of the year is starting.  Coincidence?

Yom Kippur is very special.  Most Jews, if they are able, will attend their synagogue tonight for Kol Nidre and tomorrow morning for Yom Kippur.  They will be fasting after dinner tonight for 25 hours-without drinking any water, which is quite hard to do.  Our narrative is that Moses wrote the 5 books of Moses.  It was Moses who told us to do this.  In Leviticus, 16:29, it says,

"This shall remain for you an eternal decree:  In the 7th moth, on the 10th of the month, you shall afflict yourselves and you shall not do any work, neither the native nor the proselyte who dwells among you.

For on this day he shall provide atonement for you to cleanse you from all your sins before HaShem (translation: (the Word-G-d) shall you be cleansed.

It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall afflict yourselves;  an eternal decree.  The Kohen, who has been anointed or who has been given the authority to serve in place of his father, shall provide atonement;  he shall don the linen vestments, the sacred vestments....This shall be to you an eternal decree to bring atonement upon the children of Israel for all their sins once a year;  and Aaron did as HaShem commanded Moses."

Kohens are the descendants of Aaron, brother of Moses.  This holiday we will start to celebrate tonight is Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year when our affliction is to fast for  repentance. Many Cohens serving in the synagogue today are really ancestors of the Kohens bearing J1 or J2 DNA haplogroup.  Moses is said to have died in 1271 BCE, so we have been having Yom Kippur for 3,286 years.  Now, Jews make up only about 2% of the American population, but it is mighty strange that the Pope wanted to meet Obama today on such an auspicious Jewish holiday.  Coincidence, you say?  The Pope knows exactly what day today is the start of.

This is indeed a first.  It's the first time Obama will host the Pope who will also be addressing a special session of the House and Senate together.

A Jesuit priest from Argentina, ex officio as Bishop of Rome, and Sovereign of the Vatican City.  Argentina was a country where many Nazis had escaped to after WWII.  I met several Argentinian Jews in my Ulpan in Israel who were learning Hebrew with me.  By 1990, there were 228,000 Jews living in Argentina, mainly in Buenos Aires.  They have been an important part of Argentina's development of industry and commerce.  Assimilation has also helped to depopulate Argentina besides those making Aliyah to Israel.
Obama gathered up some strange groups to greet Pope Francis today.  I think he's trying to make a point.  There will be the first gay Episcopal bishop of USA, a transgender head of a Catholic group, a nun who runs Network who was disapproved of by the Catholic heads for lobbying for Obamacare.  This was a no-no because it's not liked by Catholics or other religious groups as they have been funding abortions and Catholics by the Feds are now asked to provide birth control for their employees, which is also a no-no.  Then there's always that inevitable photo op that people get together for in the first place.  In Obama's mind these people might be looked on by the Pope as sinners because they are going against what he preaches.  I guess Obama is helping him to find people that need to be saved.

Pope Francis at Western Wall in Jerusalem May 25, 2014 on a 3 day visit to Middle East.  Most of time was spent with Jordan.  At least he took a lot of pictures.
The Pope and Jews today are not getting along well because of his goings on in the Middle East, visiting Jordan  while holding property in Jerusalem.   The Pope went against Israel completely when he signed a treaty with the PA (Palestinian Authority with Abbas) in which he recognized Palestine as a state. This happened in February 2013.  This is a legal document and constitutes an official recognition.   It is not truly officially one as yet, through the UN,  though they have been trying.  Trying by attacking Israel from Gaza, and being  split and together and split again from Hamas which are terrorists.

Because the Pope did this, Israel's Sanhedrin passed judgement on Pope Francis on September 8th of this year.  A trial and judgement took place on the 20th.  Pope Francis was called  in a summons.  He ignored it, coming to the USA on today.  He was then judged in absentia.  His decision to recognize the Palestinians as a state is the cause of the trial.   Today's Sanhedrin is a religious high court of 71 rabbis.  The Pope's statement that the Jews have no right to the land of Israel or to Jerusalem was shocking.  Now the Pope has switched the relations from the PLO to the State of Palestine.  It's a treaty.

Pope Francis and Abbas, head of the Palestinians, the "angel of peace." The two men have much in common, almost same age, both heads of an observer state at UN.
The Pope has also gone as far as calling Abbas an angel of peace!  In doing all this, Israel sees the significance as the Pope rejecting the Biblical roots of the Jews who live in the land of Israel.  They were led there to live by Moses, and that's what the 5 books all lead up to.  The Jews lived there from 1271 BCE when Moses died till 70 CE when the ROMANS, who had been occupying Jerusalem, attacked the 2nd Temple and burned it down along with the whole city of Jerusalem, causing all the Jews of Judah to flee.

Jews have been very faithful to the Democratic party.  They were attracted by Franklin Delano Roosevelt during WW II when 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust of Europe.  The Democratic Party is like a father to them.  It is said that more than 70% of the Jews of the USA had voted for Obama both times!

Now he's gone against Israel big time by siding with  Iran, a Muslim state who wants to destroy the Jewish state and who we feel is making nuclear power for just that reason.  Up to now, the USA has been Israel's friend, the only  Democratic country sharing values with the USA.

Today the Palestinians are on the same level in the UN with  official observer status, just like the Pope's Vatican.   Of course no Jews should be hanging around the White House today or tomorrow for any receptions or meetings.  They will be in their synagogues.   Such as how our White House schedules events.

The Pope ignored Israel quite a bit when he visited with Jordan recently on his 3 day whirlwind, spending time more with the Palestinians.  .

Cleaning Up America One Quiet, Noble Act at a Time: A Self-Action Leadership Example from the Floors of Costco

Yesterday, my wife, son, and I went to Costco for lunch (Costco makes my favorite pizza!). After finishing my food, I sat staring off into the distance when I noticed a little boy drop his drink on the floor. In the worst possible timing, his father swung his foot around right as the cup hit the ground, causing the drink’s contents to not just spill, but to spray all over the smooth, concrete floor.

Sadly, the father’s response was not proactive, but reactionary, whereby he forthwith began to scold his son’s careless action that led to the embarrassing mess that now lay before them. Hanging his head in shame, the young boy covered his face with his hands as his father—who made no moves to clean up the mess—continued to stealthily communicate his disapproval of his son's carelessness.

Enter Jordan. No, not me; I remained a passive side-observer of the unfolding scene. The Jordan I speak of was a teenage Costco employee, complete with Costco name tag, uniform, apron, and food preparation hair net.

Armed with a roll of paper towels, Jordan leapt proactively to the scene and began cleaning up the mess. And boy did he clean up the mess! By the time he was done, there was not the slightest drop or streak of liquid remaining. All the while, the father of the little boy continued to stand idly by reactively watching Jordan work.

As Jordan was mopping up the last few drops of spilled drink, an elderly man walked by with pizza in one hand and his paper cup in the other. Losing his balance slightly, the man squeezed the top of his full cup, causing the upper contents of his drink to spill all over the floor, making another mess to cover half again the space of the sizable spill Jordan had just finished fixing.

Undaunted, Jordan unflinchingly turned his full attention and energy toward the second mess with the same passion, enthusiasm, focus, and dedication as he had the first spill. As I sat watching all this (I could have helped myself, but was busy holding my toddler son on my lap), I became so impressed with Jordan, that after he had finished his work, I called him over to where I was sitting. After commending him for his fine cleaning job, I asked him if I could take his picture and include it in a blog I planned to write and publish about his simple, yet heroic actions. I also asked him for his e-mail address so I could send him a copy of my article after it was published.

Very professionally, he explained I could not take his picture because he was representing Costco in an official uniform, and would have to get permission from his supervisors to do so. Not wanting to embarrass him (I think he was already a bit weirded out by my unorthodox requests), I did not press the issue any further. I was, however, further impressed by his humble reply to my offer. He simply said: “It’s okay; I don’t do what I do for credit or attention. I am just doing my job.” Then he modestly added, “Thanks, though.”

While I am probably publishing this at Jordan’s chagrin, and while I do not have a picture of this fine young man to accompany the piece as I would have liked, I could not keep from doing what I could to honor the simple, yet spectacular, actions of this extraordinary, ordinary [1] young self-action leader. Thank you, Jordan, for your example of what SAL means in the most common of circumstances, and for proceeding honorably in your work without seeking for any credit or public adulation for your good works.

In a sense, it is sad that such a simple act of "doing one's job" came across to me as being so unusual--even spectacular. It is a sign of how relatively rare such actions often are in this world. It often seems a diminishing few individuals exhibit the kind of stellar Self-Action Leadership that Jordan did during his shift at Costco yesterday.

I remember a few years ago spilling something on the floor of an In-N-Out fast food restaurant. Maybe it is just my OCD, but it is unthinkable for me to make such a blunder without taking responsibility for my mistake. Grabbing a handful of napkins, I proceeded to clean up the mess I had made. An older gentlemen, who, unbeknownst to me, had noticed my actions, remarked to me with a wistful sense of sadness, "Wow, it is rare these days to see someone actually clean up after themselves." His comment made me feel sad.

Costco needs more employees like Jordan. Schools and organizations everywhere need more Costco Jordans. Conroe needs more Costco Jordans. Texas needs more Costco Jordans. The other 49 States in America needs more Costco Jordans. The World needs more Costco Jordans. And just to be clear, I’m not talking about myself, but this young Costco employee, although this Jordan—imperfect though I am—does try to be the best self-action leader I can be. And at day’s end, that is all I ask of me—and it is all I ask of YOU.

From the floors of Costco to Costco's executive suites in Seattle, we need more self-action leaders. From the trenches of Iraq and Afghanistan to the plush offices of Generals and Admirals in Washington, we need more self-action leaders. From the high rises of Manhattan to the back alleys of Brooklyn, we need more self-action leaders. From children on the playground to principles and professors in classrooms and administrative offices, we need more self-action leaders. From the local voting booth to Governor's mansions, Capitol Hill, the Oval Office—and everywhere in between—we need more self-action leaders, and we need them badly.

Learn a lesson from and be inspired by Jordan, the young man who, on his hands and knees, and without fanfare or tips, cleaned up a floor in Costco that needed cleaning, and did it with the same energy and professionalism that I'll bet Costco's CEO -- W. Craig Jelinek -- expects of himself and his entire executive team in Issaquah, Washington.

Invest this same kind of energy and quality in their work--no matter what that work might be--and to perform it as if you were composing some masterful piece of literature, creating some genius piece of art, or designing some state-of-the art physical structure. Jordan is a young man who is destined for greater things. Here is truly a young man who has embraced the challenge laid down for all humanity by the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“If a man is called to be a streetsweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote potery. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great streetsweeper who did his job well.’"
